Cognitivereason:
I wished what u said made sense but doesn't...
U hardly find investors on any rail project simply because it is capital intensive and it built mainly for service and to be the cheapest form of transport rather than profit..

U can't expect an organization or Private people to invest 1.6bn dollars on let say Lagos Ibadan rail line only to charge 3k for a trip..so project like this are usually funded by the government or the government borrow to fund it....China it self borrowed to set up it own high speed rail line....US even Saudi Arabia is doing same and is building on a desert while giving the contract to China...so it a normal thing
Excellent insight. No private entity invests in rail infrastructure as it is capital intensive, not immediately profitable and highly regulated. Govts build those sort of infrastructure because they open up new markets and enable many others. We have a huge infrastructure deficit in Nigeria that needs billions of dollars to close and we are only just scratching the surface. Even US is now trying to pass a $1.6trillion infrastructure fund to close their own gap when compared with China. That will be funded via loans too.
