Few days ago, The Akwa Ibom State Government, under the able leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel, celebrated its 34th anniversary of State creation with much to talk about in terms of achievements and accomplishments.

A lot of achievements stood out as the celebrations unfolded, but what captured my mind the most was the two most significant events that took place, which were the swearing-in of the President General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council as well as the inauguration of the State of the Art intelligent 21 Storey building at banking layout, Udo udoma Avenue, both in Uyo.

These two critical events took their turn simultaneously but a day apart under the strict supervision of two erudite Sons of Eket Federal Constituency, Hon. Frank Archibong and Rt Hon. Okpolupm Etteh who serve as Commissioners for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Special Duties respectively.

At the Inauguration of the Ntenyin (Dr) Solomon Daniel Etuk as President General, the ingenuity of Hon. Archibong, the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs boss was brought to bare, as the recently commissioned edifice for the revered monarchs had a touch of class with beauty as a mark in honour of our special traditional rulers.

Governor Udom Emmanuel isn't known for mediocrity, so Mr. Archibong alongside his team went extra mile in convincing the Governor through first class performance towards ensuring that our traditional rulers are given some sort of befitting treatment under a first class ambience.

Recall also that few weeks before this event, Governor Udom through Mr Frank Archibong had inaugurated the Clans Of Family Heads referred to in local parlance as 'Mbong Ekpuk', a group that had existed for about 13 years without official recognition until Governor Emmanuel came on board. This i believe was done in honour of the traditional institutions and also to further solidified the peace in Akwa Ibom State and also give our monarchs some deserving pride of place in the comity of traditional institutions in the State.

The Governor through the Commissioner few weeks after the inauguration also donated a brand new 18 seater bus to help the royal fathers in mobility.

While the ovation was still loud, the Governor, alongside his friend and visitor, the Vice president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo set out to inaugurate the 21st digitalized and State of the Art intelligent building built to accommodate blue chip firms and other International Oil Companies (IOC) who in the past had complained about their inability to site their operational headquarters in the State for lack of infrastructures.

Again an ideal for standard structure to serve such purpose was birthed in the mind of the Governor, and to actualize such dream had to be those that understands his dreams and vision for the State which to a larger extent is to create a state financially independent of Federal allocation and create jobs and prosperity for the people.

Onboard to help interpret the dream was Rt Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, a vastly experienced technocrat of no mean repute, first class politician, servant of God, former lawmaker, Philanthropist and more who inherited the Governor's vision and the office of the Special Duties from Mr Akan Okon, another technocrat now in charge of the Ministry of Economic and Ibom Deep Seaport.

Etteh through his ingenuity and total dedication to duties oversaw the delivery of one of the most talked about structure situated on a massive site area of 48,200 square metres (4.82 hectares) with an ICT compliant intelligent structure with 24hours power supply and also measuring 104 metres high with 21 floors of rentable office spaces, surrounded by a podium which includes restaurants, banks and adequate convenience services. It has a parking space which can accommodate about 400 cars.

The celebrations might have ended but these two sons of Ekid nation proved their wit and mettle by once again translating the vision of their boss Governor Udom Emmanuel into reality.
