Good evening everyone, please any one with an idea of any good books one can read, to help come out drug addiction problem, currently, a 26 years old girl, is in serious need of help, her situation is so bad that she can not hold or keep any valuable to her self, she can not hold a phone for five minutes because she will exchange the phone for drugs immediately, she has nothing except the clothes she's putting on now all she have has been exchange for drugs, she was talking to church for deliverance she ran away, now she is under lock and keys in rehabilitation center, she is asking for any good book she can read in there, she really wants to come out of it because she has loose a lot of things, family members are tired of her, alot of money has been spent on her, she went as far as exchanging her father house documents for cocaine, she could not graduate from school, she could not learn any trade or handwork, her life is practical definition of waywardness, naira Landers please any idea to save her??

Depends on her interests. She can read math books or books on sewing or any other craft out there. She can even do word puzzles or crosswords. It all depends on what she is interested in.

Locking her up is not the answer, she needs new environment and new people with the mindset she wants to embrace. She needs to start a new walk.

What is their time table at the Rehab like? Do they have an occupational therapist and psychotherapist working there.

Sure, there is more to things but it has nothing to do with any of what you have said there. In Africa, there is actually a plant that has been found to be effective in countering additions. Those who have been given this plant to chew have been said to miraculously recover from addiction, almost over night- Ibogaine. Nothing spiritual...just chemicals in the brain as stuff.

Sadly, most in Africa are high on religion and low on. Intelligence to harness the power of such plants for good.

She needs to see a psychiatrist asap. Addiction is a mental problem. She would be given some drugs to curb both the addiction and withdrawal symptoms.

What she needs right now is rehab - to get the professional help she needs. Books cannot replace rehab when it comes to serious drug addiction.

When in rehab, or better yet, thereafter, she can then combine the take-home lessons and strategies she got from rehab, along with books, to help herself stay on the right track and prevent relapsing.

A combination of medication, therapy and people support will help but she needs a specialist to know what exactly she needs and walk her through it

She also needs personal resolve to communicate and reach out when she needs help, and not try to deal with it on her own
