4TH URHOBO ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT SUMMIT (EKPOBARO 2021)

Diversification of the economy has been an agenda of various administrations in Nigeria over time, particularly in the back post - 1970 oil boom era. It’s not new as an economic policy stand.

Diversification, away from crude oil, has been the main focus, and the direction has been agriculture, manufacturing, services and mining, among others. It is also a two-fold diversification of government revenue, and diversification of output or contribution to GDP.

Urhobo Nation is unarguably blessed with numerous natural and mineral resources. Outside oil, agriculture, which is one of the economic solid bases in Urhoboland, but has been made inconspicuous ever since which led to it being under-utilized to date.

We can't continue to fold our hands as if all is well. It's time to systematically Industrialize Urhobo Nation from the grassroots based on the comparative advantages across the 24 kingdoms of Urhobo Nation, Uduophori, Odorubu, Patani LGA and Ofoni Community in Bayelsa State.

Plan to support, partner and attend the epoch-making event of the 4th edition of the Urhobo Economic and Investment Summit that will have in attendance stakeholders in Government, traditional rulers, businesses, civil society, international organizations, the diplomatic community, youth bodies, students, market women, CAN and academia to proffer workable solutions in which Urhobo Nation can revamp moribund industries, create new ones, reverse poor economic trends, improve human capital base of the economy, lay a necessary foundation that will leapfrog Urhobo Nation into a future of economic progress, and sustain economic growth.
