How did Ambode lost the primary election through direct primaries right powered and engineered by BAT
Pastor emerged in Edo through direct primaries powered by Osho baba
Bubu emerged through direct primaries in millions of doctored votes...
What i see is that if the strong hierachies of some parties has decided on a candidate...the candidate will surely emerge either competent or not...
I would have loved the political parties choose whatever mode of primaries that suit them as long they pick competency above corrupt persons...

Speaking from a realistic point of view, I have never seen a flawed system like that of direct primaries, this same electra process lead to our former senator been removed illegally.
The man who won for the house rep was not given and it stands till that, but am certain if it were indirect this nonsense wouldn't had happened.
There were so many cases of irregularities, due to lack of security, funds and over population in some areas... infact results were manufactured even before the election was conducted.
Even The United state, who is the costurdian of democracy do not allow such because they know the demerits outweighs the merits...
Though indirect primaries also have it's demerits but it's far better than the direct primaries....my opinion though...
Let's not start what we cannot finish...

Well said
It's easy for small parties to employ technologies....
How did BBN collate votes?...
A small party like AAC with little or no money can build apps for people to elect their candidates...
The key to avoid manipulation or double voting lies with technology....
Make we stop to dey reason like stone age people....

Direct primary is just self preservation for our lawmakers, the govonors decide who becomes a lawmaker because they control the delegates.

Any party that can not conduct direct primaries should merge with other parties, is not by force to be a political party. PDP should be ashamed of themselves. If they had put in place modalities for free and transparent elections when they where in power, they would not be complaining about every single thing APC does to improve the election process.

P/s am a PDP member since 2009

Direct primary is best... what is the point of 30 million people electing from two person provided to you by just less than 2000 party delegates mosttimes..

Most times, delegates give the country options of "devil and lesser devil"..
Exactly, how will 2000 people determine the fate of almost 200 million people

Direct primaries will favour only the big parties with national spreads and enough financial war chest.

How would you expect parties like AAC, KOWA or even ACCORD to afford primaries in all States of the Federation

Should those mushroom parties even exist in the first place?parties created out of grievances & refusal to compromise ?
Parties should not spring up only during elections and not maintain grassroot presence prior to that period..

On the contrary, smaller parties will benefit most. They have a smaller number, thus conducting their primaries will require far lesser resources and logistics

The honorable men have done their work ,let's practice and see how it works .. Direct primary to me is the best because on several occasions we have seen where Governors sat in the coven of their rooms to prepare list of delegates to tumbprint ballot papers for their preferred candidates .. It happened in Ekiti and Some other places and that is why the Governor there is not answerable to his party men ..the nonsense should stop

This is primaries, for very small parties, there are candidates are usually unopposed. So almost no need for the primary.

Thieves full this country sha!
Tell me that direct primaries can't absolve the use of personal computers, author generated codes, assisted voting units?
With the number of Nigerians with access to the internet and tell me the rest can't be provided with access for the purpose of this voting? and even if there's malpractice at this early stages, it'll still be far more credible than result writings. The hurdle that is of much concern is voter and votes authentication which is surmountable. Save me this lame reasons for detraction
