Between a Lexus ES 350 and a Lexus RX 350 both are 2007 models.
Which should I purchase as my first car?

Too many Yahoo boys and some students use ES350 across Nigeria. At any check points, you'll probably be stopped by law enforcement agents for search.
Unlike an RX350 which could give you more respect.
For fuel efficiency, the ES is Owk, for durability the RX is best

There is nothing like Rx 350 2007 model. Rx 350 started from 2008

Take rx350 ,the Es350 is just too low

The following should be your deciding factors:
1. Your typical route: if you traverse bad roads often, you are better off with the rx350 (which started in 2008 and not 2007).
2. If fuel economy is your primary decider and terrain is not that important to you, then the es350 is your car.

Maintenance is about same for both cars.

At OP, here contains main point... never buy Es350 If the route you ply is bad, u will regret it. And have it in mind that RX 350 consumes more fuel than Es350... And ignore that guy saying police stop one car more than the other. Nigeria police will stop any young guy be it one 1999 car u dey....

Are both vehicles not using same 2GR engine? So why will fuel consumption be different?

Weight and drive train. Rx350 sometimes comes with awd which increases fuel consumption.

hmmm I use a 2008 ES350 and thr road to my house is pretty bad

Why will you be changing Lexus shock absorber more than once in a year or once in 3 years self... u dey use am run race with Hilux ni

I will also change mine to RX when have gathered enough money to buy the 2012 model, I can't use those 2007 - 2009 RX. Too boring and am used to heated seats and parking sensor..... it seems parking sensor start from 2010 RX... and without parking sensor, I'll be hitting the wall every Damm time
