I think those cursing Lord Lugard should stop, and turn their arrows at Nnamdi Azikiwe... He started the One Nigeria campaign upheld by the politicians today.

Now his own people wants to break away…
Well, may GOD'S wish for this nation come true.
The man was blinded by the ambition of his tribe to dominate others. Ironically his people are now at the forefront of succession! Let's wait and watch how events unfold.

Get your facts, the circumstances prevalent in todays Nigeria was not there when Zik oppossed the motion.Today there are glaring need to insert self- determination in the constitution to curtail abuse of power.
moreover in those days your father does not have access to computers or android phone, why are you using them today?.The earlier you realise that change is the only permanent thing in life the better for you.

All this yoruba history.

So the word of one Azikiwe was greater than that of the suppose Sufferhisticated Awolowo,Ahmadu bello and others combine.

Even northern soldiers killed Military governor of Western Region, Col.Adekunle Fajuyi,Instead of confronting
north for killing their brother. They changed the narrative claiming that their brother asked Northern soldiers kill him.
Imagine what the narrative would have be if he
was killed by Eastern soldiers.

Known revisionist.

See the type of dense women these people breed. No wonder Nnamdi Kanu himself called 99.9% of them prostitutes because dey no get brain. Na to open yansh up and down dey sabi

Let me put it this way. To add referendum to the constitution, you will need at least two thid majority vote of not only the Senate, but also the House of reps. Di you know what that means?

It means you will need 73 Senators out of 109, and 240 out of 360 rep members to vote for referendum.

How will you convince 73 Senators and 240 rep members to vote for something that could be used to break up Nigeria?

Lets talk about something else

You convince them with diplomacy. The OP already responded to you but your halfwit brain can’t process your hat diplomacy is. It’s a long game, you play it till you win. It’s either that or you declare war, and we all know you don’t want that.

I know the brain of a black man is repository for duumbbbb bias. This is obvious by your amoeboic level of intelligence you and OP displayed.

So you mean to tell me that there were 3 people in a stake and one person's vote superceded that of the other 2? Now, read slowly, understand before you reply with your scrawny hands.

Leave black men out of your self hating defeatist brain of yours. This is a YOU problem. The white jury sided with Azikwe because he was debating what was in their interests at the time. Don’t make me dig into the archives to open Azikwe’s yansh some more. No wonder why he got deported from Ghana.

Not only was he a greedy bastard, he was a coward and as deceitful as they come, he was the pioneer of 419 as we know it. He was the original scammer forging school certificates and legal documents and got caught. That’s what did him in, that’s what made him a puppet to the white man that you self hating fool love so much. That is why there will never be a biafra, now go cry me a river.

When bigwig politicians were making suggestions about what should be in the Nigerian constitution in 1954, Chief Obafemi Awolowo stated that the constitution should allow any state or tribe that wanted to break up and leave Nigeria to do so.

Furthermore, Nnamdi Azikiwe, a strong supporter of One Nigeria, saw no rationale for Awolowo's suggestion and opposed it, arguing that the country should remain united till the end of time.

The participants at the conference, on the other hand, seemed very interested in the topic that Awolowo brought up and how Nnamdi Azikiwe battled it, so they granted both of them one day to clarify their positions before determining whether or not to allow secession in the constitution.

Furthermore, on debating day, Awolowo clarifies his point with several reasons. He cites the Soviet Union and Western Australia as examples of countries that allowed people to secede peacefully.

However, following Awolowo's speech, Azikiwe gives numerous reasons why he opposes it. He claims that attempting to break away and question Nigeria's unity is a betrayal of one's country and should not be considered.

Furthermore, it was reported that these topics sparked numerous debates before Oliver Littleton and Lord Chandos came to their aid, stating that permitting for secession in the constitution is not advisable.

Furthermore, this is one of the factors that led to war 967, when Ojukwu attempted to secede the Igbo people from Nigeria and the Gowon and other people opposed him because what he wanted to do violated our constitution and was treasonous.

What are the key takeaways?

The lesson learned is that our forefathers who fought for independence were willing to go to great lengths to ensure that Nigeria remained one, and we, the people of this generation, should follow in their footsteps and seek unity because there is power in our oneness

Another lesson learned is that demanding the Oodua Nation and Biafra is not permitted under our constitution. It is treasonous or may lead to a war that none of us wants.

I want to go my way through referendum, but you want me to convince some people as to why they should let me go my way? Based on what? The fraudulent union of Nigeria nobody ever agreed to be part of in the first place?

Nobody is convincing nobody about nothing. The agitation for independence from Nigeria will continue until referendum is granted, and there will be no peace until that time.

I wouldn't have bothered to reply you in order not to make the thread appear tribal instead of factual but I will in order to set the records straight

Zik owed no debts to the British Govt and moreover even at that time all he needed to plead even if he owed was to plead bankruptcy. No one goes to jail even in the 50s for debt

Azikwe had wanted dominance he was a man that was endured with an unusual dose of expansionist tendencies. Before the election of 59, Awolowo offered him the position of the PM while he will be his Deputy, inspite of having more seats than him in the parliament, because neither of both of them had the numbers to form the Govt alone. Azikwe choosed to go with NPC, the Nothern party, just to be made the Ceremonial President. All this because he felt the fulani man Balewa was going to be easily manipulative. He had always being intimidated by Awolowo intellectual prowess. People with expansionist tendencies don't like relating with intelligent people in order for their motives not to be exposed

In 1979 he had the option of supporting the UPN in the elections, he failed. Even in the call for runoff his voice could have made the difference but he was missing in action. Was that the British too? Not taking responsibility for ones actions is a common traits of the SE. They blame everyother person but themselves for their defective reasoning borne out of an equally deficient intellectual prowess

Today in their illfated agitation for Biafra they have abused, cursed and blame everyother tribe. Unfortunately the guilty party are their tribesmen in both the HOR and Senate that has NOT FOR ONCE proposed it in the constitutional amendment from 99-date(22yrs)

The SS started agitation for resource control same 21yrs ago today out of the 50% they have 13%, SW started state police and devolution of power,in this present review it has an 85% chance of succeeding

WHAT HAS BEING THE AGITATION OF THE SE FROM 1999 TILL DATE

They had Senate presidency zoned to them for 8yrs 99-07, they had 6 different Senate President in that interval none using up to 2yrs because of individual greed and ambition of other senators from their Zone. Was that the British?
NC had it for 8yrs, only 1 person occupied it. No other senators from his zone plotted his removal for the 8yrs

What dies that tell you? An Igbo politician has no ideology or principle, no vision or love for his constituent. All they care about is their pocket and ego.
How is not proposing a constitutional amendment to insert provision for referendum the fault of Buhari,Tinubu,Afonja and fulani?

Ironsi,an Igbo man, brought military coup into Nigeria and the first thing the drunkard did was to drop a working Regional Govt system and made Nigeria a unitary state because he thought he will be there for life. Yet today you blame fulani THAT DIDN'T START IT BUT ONLY INHERITED THE EVIL YOUR BROTHER STARTED FOR IT.

That is what the country knows, your politicians know and the international community knows, that's why nobody now or even in 100yrs will take you serious

The Labour of the foolish wearies everyone because he is too dumb to know how to get to the city from his hamlet

That today sums up the tragedy of the SE people

. Did Azikwe forsee 1966
Jan and July coups and the civil war? The lesson there is think about stuation when you are large even when you are still small. When you are married think about challenges you will have when you become parents. Until we have equity in our governance system there will always be secession movements in Nigeria!
