*Who Is Hon Debo Ologunagba?*

Honorable Debo Ologunagba is an Ondo State - born politician that has made great marks in the banking, legal and public sectors of Nigeria.

This staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984 . He immediately kicked off his career as a legal luminary in the Banking industry serving the NYSC program with Federal Mortgage Bank , Sokoto branch in 1985. In 1986, he moved to the renown United Bank of Africa where he served as the Bank's Legal Officer from 1986 to 1989.

In the year 1989, he was appointed to head the legal department of Prime Merchant Bank Ltd, and from there moved to Stallion Home Savings and Loans Ltd.where he was tasked with the dual roles of Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser and Head, Admin between 1991 and 1996.

In 1997, the legal luminary was approached by Liberty Bank PLC to serve as the Bank's Head of Legal and subsequently appointed Company Secretary/Legal Adviser.

In 2003, he became a Partner in Equity & Trust Chambers; a firm of Legal Practitioners.

In 2007, Honorable Debo Ologunagba ran for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives, which he won by very comfortable margin. Though the electoral victory was temporarily delayed, he however reclaimed his mandate in 2009.

Following his sterling performance as a federal legislator, Hon Debo was prevailed upon by his people to go for a second term in the 2011 elections; which he won very convincingly.

At the House of Representatives, he touched the lives of his constituents in many ways particularly he attracted several employment to his people.

Following the completion of his legislative term in 2015, the then Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of Constitution Review Committee, Rt Hon Lasun, named him (Hon Debo) his Special Adviser on Legal and Constitutional Matters. At the termination of this mandate in 2019, Honorable Debo returned to legal practice at Equity & Trust Chambers as the Principal Partner

Due to his quest for knowledge, Hon Debo proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos, UNILAG, to study for and obtained a Masters Degree in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) as a part time student while serving in the House of Representatives. That was in addition to the Master of Laws (LLM) degree that was obtained in 1996 from the same institution and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree obtained in 1983 from the renown University of Ife ( now Obafemi Awolowo University).

Being a loyal, faithful and committed member of the PDP, Hon has served the Partymin several capacities, including as Chief Party Agent of the party in the 2020 gubernatorial election of Ondo state. He equally served as member of Strategy Review And Inter-Party Affairs Committee 2016. In the forthcoming National Convention, he has been entrusted with the membership of the Electoral Subcommittee of the National Convention Organising Committee.

Honorable Debo Ologunagba has also undergone trainings with the prestigious Lagos Business School, attended various seminars and retreats for professional development.

He is an Associate member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a respected member of Nigeria Bar Association and International Bar Association.

Indeed, Honorable Debo understands the needs of the party and set an agenda to implement for effective management of the image of PDP as its National Publicity Secretary. These qualities contributed to the decision of both the Southwest and Ondo state Caucuses of the party to adopt him as the consensus candidate for the strategic position of PDP National Publicity Secretary.

Indeed, he possesses the training and experience, and has shown capacity to handle the tasking job of the National Publicity Secretary of PDP (and every other public or private organisation). With him as the Publicity Secretary of PDP, a Renewed party shall spring up.
