$1 Billion Scam: Dimeji Bankole Resists EFCC Arrest


By Saharareporters, New York Nigeria's anti-corruption police known as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are engaged in a tense stand-off at the home of Dimeji Bankole, the speaker of the house of representatives accused of corruption. Security sources told Saharareporters that a group of officials sent to execute Mr. Bankole's arrest could not do so because he resisted arrest by the agency over money laundering allegations.

Mr. Bankole had planned to travel to the United Kingdom this morning on 7 :00 AM flight in order to avoid arrest, but EFCC operatives soon invaded his official abode at Apo quarters in Abuja, the official residence of Nigeria's number 3 official.

Although Mr. Bankole's tenure ended yesterday as speaker, Policemen and plain clothed security officials attached to the speaker's office prevented his arrest.

This is the biggest problem we have in this country is that some people have made themself untouchable and above the law,this is the only country in the world where people steaal public funds and get away with it,its high time we respect the law in this country,there is no differnt between a senator and an ordinary nigerian,a thief should be treated like one

I seriously don't get why some Policemen can stop other Policemen from carrying out their legal duties!
