Anambra State government has raised alarm over alleged plan to scuttle the proposed commissioning ceremony of the Anambra International Airport, scheduled to hold this Saturday, 30th October, 2021.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba who stated this in Awka gave it a political colouration, stating that he was informed that they cited security as reason for the cancellation.

The Commissioner communicated the disappointment of ndi Anambra about the development, stressing that most Anambra people believe that it is politically motivated.

Commissioner Adinuba further revealed that the governor is already discussing with the highest authority in the land, because President Mohammadu Buhari is not in the country at the moment, assuring that the issue will be resolved.

He stated that the entire development is suspect because the state government met all requirements for the approval in line with international standards.

Why can't they just resume operations? Must they commission it? Nigerians and unnecessary ceremony.

It is more of security precaution than politics and I believe the so called commissioner knows the truth.
There is no political scheme that can stop the operation of Anambra airport from taking off this year. However, in government you don't take security threats for granted no matter how small it is. We all know the security news concerning 30th of October, so for me I think it's more of necessary precaution than just politics.

Munguno or whatever his name seems to be a hater of Igbos. The FG gave Yobe state 16 billion to complete their airport but gave nothing to Anambra for ours. Governor Willie Obiano painstakingly completed this airport without borrowing a dime. The least one can expect from Kanuri man like Monguno is praises for this wonderful feat by the Anambra Governor which Mungono's Kanuri brother in Yobe state couldn't do instead of trying to frustrate this project that is giving so much joy to Anambra people. The marginalization of Igbos has to stop.
