Not a bad format to steal with but expect more constructive and refined stealing from Tinubu. That time his supporters eyes go clear properly. |

Ynix: The food you want to eat, is it not road they'll use to drive it to your area? If there is train carrying food across regions, will it not make food cheaper? The health care is it not inside a building you'll be attended to? Is it not when there is electrical infrastructure hospital will function well? If pdp did all this in 16 years, buhari will be building train in East because they'll have built lagos ibadan train since 2012. Yet nothing to show for pdp. 1 Like |

Infrastructure that the people still go ahead to destroy or not maintain properly. Why not try to invest more in the people so they now infrastructures are not meant to be destroyed. 1 Like |

Ynix: The human development that happened between 1940-1970, where are they now? If you develop human without infrastructure, they will leave your country for countries with infrastructure. Look at Nigerian doctors and nurses. We develop them but they leave in droves every year to countries like Saudi, UK, US. Countries that have infrastructure. Human development has limited life span. 10-15years tops and it has continuous for life. Infrastructure development has a longer life span 25 to sometimes 100years. Let me give you an example. Look at the third mainland bridge that was built in 1990. Do you know how many millions of developed human passes on top of it daily? Take your secondary and tertiary schools for example. They’re infrastructures. Do you know how many millions of human development has taken place in that infrastructure? We need more of those infrastructures to build more human development. Whether you develop human or you don’t, human being will always find a way to develop himself cos it human nature to survive and the only way to survive is development but human cannot develop or survive without infrastructure/tools and those tools/infrastructures won’t develop themselves. 2 Likes |

The topic of the side conference session was global infrastructure. Buhari had every right to bring up the topic at that forum. Nigeria has a huge infrastructure gap of $150bln per year for 10 years, hence the $1.5trillion figure. If he doesn't say it, who else will? From what I read, he is asking for investments. I didn't see where he was begging for loans. Even on the subject of loans, we have not defaulted in paying our loans these past 6 years hence the appetite for multilateral institutions to provide more. Our bonds are usually oversubscribed, giving an indication of confidence though at a high interest rate which is a function of perceived country risk. Infrastructure is required and it is only a bold govt that invests in it because the dividends don't show till years after investments are made. The typical politician doesn't think beyond 4-8 years and therefore will not focus on long term benefits of solid infrastructure. Buhari should bear the current burden and criticisms in good faith and see it as his own contribution to Nigeria's development. I believe history will be kind to him in years to come. |
