Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state has said there is great wisdom in throwing the presidential ticket if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) open to all aspirants instead of zoning it to any particular region.

There has been disagreement in the party on which region will produce the Presidential candidate. Some stakeholders in the party are saying it must come to the South since the position of national chairman has gone to the North.

Fintiri, who was the chairman of the PDP Convention Committee in an interview monitored by DAILY INDEPENDENT said zoning is not the problem of Nigeria today but getting a credible candidate from anywhere in the country who can unite the people and improve security and economic life of the nation.

“I saw wisdom if the PDP ticket will be thrown open because the problem of Nigeria today is not about zoning. It is for us to look for a credible candidate, anywhere that person comes from, irrespective of his religion or tribe”.

“What Nigerians are after today is to have a good leader that will be able to deliver on our economy and security”.

“A good leader that will impact on human development and one that will be able to deploy the kind of infrastructure that we will need in this country that can roll out the economy properly so that this country can take its position in the comity of nations”.

Indeed! These northern ruling elites just don't want power to return back to the South and they will do anything to ensure that the presidency seat remains in the north. You just watch and see.

I pity the foolishness of our greedy, gullible and self-centered southern leaders, mortgaging the future of the south for ONE NIGERIA that doesn't exist, all for a plate of badly cooked porridge. Don't get it twisted Igbos prefer the presidency to remain in the north than to be given to a Yoruba man. Igbos don't really need the presidency, all they want is either Biafra or fairness, equity and justice in Nigeria.

Igbos don't believe in licking ass to get what they believe is their right like a typical Yoruba man will always do. Ask FFK, Osibanjo and Tinubu what I mean

Yoruba's thru Akeredolu via the southern governors forum is clamouring for all political parties to zone their presidential ticket to the south so as to give Tinubu a soft landing. But what Akeredolu doesn't know is that PDP has concluded to zone its ticket to north. And we in the SS and SE are very comfortable with that decision. The north are born to rule, so let them rule

If PDP wants to win the 2023 elections they should just zone it to the North. Even if its that 25 year old youth leader, he will floor anyone from the South West anyway. That's the simple but sad truth & our present reality.
