Enlighten us more on the one you use...like what is the watt/kva, what & what does it carry, how long does it stay on, how long does it take to charge, how much you got it...I intend to eventually go the solar way, & use it side by side with my inverter, this one that PHCN is increasing their so called maintenance fee

what's the current rating of your panel?can it deliver 20A?.For a 200ah batery for uptimum charging ,u hv 2 charge it with a current of around 10% of the ah rating.since ur bat is 200ah,10% of 200ah is 20A.

good day every1. i've a question; would it be appropriate to pair an external battery charger with an inverter to have a given amp.
my inverter has 10 amp charger and there is an 8 amp battery charger, can i mix the two simultaneously in order to charge my battery bank?
over and out.

Yes, provided ur inverter and charger are of d same voltage. Ur total charging current will now be 10 plus 8 which results in less charging time. But is ur external charger an intelligent one?- else you risk damaging both ur batt and inverter.

the tiger tg 3800 kick and start shall charge it. Its sold for btw 39 n 41k.
But why spend 40k on a generator which will suck ur money from day one till its last day. Simply put some hundreds of thousands of naira together and buy urself solar panels and a reliable charge controller. Check my earlier posts for the solar link. Read up and make up ur mind. You dont need that noise making machine.

Hello House, your candid advice is needed here urgently.
I have been using an inverter for a while now but I want to know the specific loads it can power conveniently. The specs of my inverter/battery combo is:

INVERTER
Maker: Mercury
Model: Radiant 1000
Input: 220Vac-240Vac,50/60Hz, 8A max, 10
Output: 220Vac-240Vac,50/60Hz,10,1000VA,600W
Battery; 12VDC

BATTERY
SEC Ind Battery Co.
Sealed VRLA AGM
CELLYTE 12FTA 155

Battery Charging
Float Voltage: 12.25Vpc +/- 0.01Vpc @ 20-25C
Max charge Voltage: 2.35Vpc +/- 0.01Vpc @ 20-25C

I also would like to know if it can carry a SCANFROST REFRIGERATOR with the following specs:
Scanfrost Fridge
Voltage: 220-240V
Frequency; 50Hz
Input power; 68W
Refrigerant: R134a 60g
Volume: 130L
Climate Class: T

The inverter specialists in the house, your advice is sought here. Thank you

i love the details u gave. My answer will be based on d details. Yes it can power the fridge but ur batteries will discharge faster and u risk damaging the battery. So you need like 2 pieces of 200ah in parallel against ur current 150ah. So this the reason why d use of fridge should be totally discouraged on small kva inverters. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys just came across this forum and i think this is probably the most informative topic here on NL. Keep it up . Anyway i have some questions and i would appreciate your answers , i am new to this whole inverter topic so my questions might seem very "noobish" , abeg bear with me grin grin. Ok. so :
1. How strong is a 1KVA / 2.5KVA ? For example , which home appliances can either one carry ?
2. What type or brand of Inverter would you advise me to buy based on affordability and durabilty ? Please give estimate of cost if possible.
3. How long can an inverter last (1KVA or 2.5KVA) ?
4. What type of battery would you advise me to use with my Inverter?

Just some questions for now , hope you guys respond. Thanks

is been long, but soonest, after going thru some reply here, some answer are not given directly, but i will surely attend to most of the question that are not solve, next week when im back from PH,

question on solar will be answer and many that have issues on inverter like GXQ , but let me conveniently tell you here that this so call inverter is very Good, the only issue with it is that it has a poor charging system, if your source is not good and you dont have regular light, you will not enjoy it, and i bet you most installer will condemn it for you just to bring in another type which you will still have issue it.

but if you are worried contact me on

these questions remind me of my undergraduate days. Answer all questions. No option..... Lol.
Q1. 2.5> 1kva.
Q2. Sukham, genius. Price?
Q3. Depends on the load. The higher the load, the lower the back up time.
Q4. Any 200ah batt you can afford. Eg zenith.
Pls read all previous post. You will find all answers 2 ur questions.
