buy any model that is a pure sine wave with cc / cv charging software.
also buy from where you will get quality after sales services and warranty.
if you need further help, ask. I'm into design, construction, repair and installation of pure sine wave inverter and solar systems.
1kva or 1.5kva will be okay to handle your load, 30,000 and 40,000 naira respectively. 2 hours power supply is very small, you will need the generator to do most of the charging.

I think the information you have supplied is inadequate. Does it supply electricity? What caused the problem? Does it occur only with generator or with public power supply?

do a simple text to confirm if charging or not<
1 get a voltmeter
2 set it to volt and read the battery
3 the plug your inverter or charger on the battery
4 take the measurement again
5 the latter reading should be higher the the initial reading
6 if this is confirm the is charging, if the result is same then its not charging
6 that is just a simple text

ekkywolex: they are pure energy bulbs & blue gate inverters are pure sine wave. you can get the batteries from base station maintenance personnel.

Not all bluegate inverters are pure sine wave. As a matter of fact the 2.5kva bluegate inverter is a modified sine wave, the 2kva bluegate inverter is pure sine wave!

I am planning of buying a bluegate inverter, I have bought two bluegate 200ah 12v batteries already but was thinking of buying a 3.5kva inverter which was not available at that moment. I have Some questions and hope the experts in the house can help me with their professional perspective:

1. Do I really need a 3.5kva inverter? although I intend to upgrade my battery bank in the future. My power consumption is about 450watts(minus the ups which I don't know - it's a 1.2 kva bluegate ups) , although would use less than 250watts

2. Would a 3.5kva inverter charge two batteries more effectively than a 2kva inverter?

3. Can I leave my UPS connected after the inverter is deployed? I am scared that my electronics might get damage while using phcn power.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

NB: I'm not an expert but I have been using inverters for a while.
1. Based on your expected load, I think the 3.5 kva is way too big. As the inverter rating increases, so do the energy losses making bigger rating inverters less efficient. A 800va or 1.5 kva inverter may be better suited to your needs. Bluegate is a low end inverter which some people report not to be very efficient. You can opt for other low end inverters with better reviews eg Sukam, Mopower or Cyberpower. And if money is not a problem , high-end inverters is the way to go eg Magnum, Outback, Xantrex, Mastervolt, Victron etc.

2. Depends on a lot of factors including charging current, charging algorithm(three-stage or bulk), operating voltage and battery arrangements(series or parallel). A 3.5 kva inverter is more likely to have a higher charging current and charge faster. I will advise that you read up reviews and the specifications of the particular models you have in mind.

3. You may have to disconnect the UPS coz ur inverter may serve as a UPS if properly connected. It doesn't make much sense charging the UPS battery with your inverter battery coz the energy losses at the multiple points of conversion will eventually drain your batteries faster.

4. No, u need a higher rated generator to charge an inverter effectively.

Awaiting responses from other gurus. You may also post this in the Solar FTA thread where a lot of experienced DIY enthusiasts and experts may proffer better advice.

Please I need advise since I am new to this inverter thing. I need a recommended inverter that can carry a flat screen, a fan, 20 bulbs (some are energy), a fridge, a laptop and a sound system. I need something very efficient, pure sine, how many batteries and what kind do I need? Is it possible I use solar to charge as I only one my generator at night between 7-11pm. If so what kind of solar and how many panels do I need and which good inverter supports both solar and generator charging? Please advise. Thanks.

I have a fusion series 3.5Kva 48V SU-Kam inverter that was recently installed by my in-law ( an experienced electrician) but he is not providing me with some solutions that are critical to the life and operatability of the unit. Such as;

1. How to put the inverter on auto switchover

2. How to charge the inverter + batteries when there is light or gen is on.

3. How to even know that the batteries are charging very well.

Professional but experience advise and guide will be appreciated

Thank you
