Two weeks ago I started learning how to drive. Though, I have not been consistent due to other engagements. My instructor is a male, should be in his 50's. Learning has been fun, but the way he shouts just to give an instruction sometimes knocks me off. In my mind, I will be like 'be calming down nau' embarassed. He wants you to stick strictly to his guide, for instance, if the road ahead is completely free and he wants you to turn at 50 and you do 50.1 and turn, which clearly is safe considering the circumstance, he shouts. Most times, I resort to explaining my decision to him.

E be things shaa.

Share your experiences, so I can learn and where possible make amends. Thank you. smiley

I think if you have a car at hand the learning will be faster..

First time I drove was from the mechanic shop to the house.. I didn't know how to keep the steering straight but I managed to get the car home..from then I picked up..

Just remove fear from your mind and concentrate its not that hard..(automatic though)..

Yes you should have started with manual..

I learnt automatic by myself.. I've not driven manual cos automatic was the available one..

He should reduce his shouting..
Imagine you driving and a truck honks the fear might return..

I never went to a driving School.
I learned how to drive around age 13/14, with my Dad's private driver. I'm surprised I never had any accident while learning; not even a dent. I drove impressively on my first day and was even able to drive in reverse for about 15 minutes.
My Dad is a retired high ranking Military official, so the fear of denting his car made me pay very very close attention.
No, it wasn't an Automatic car!

I know you're trying to be funny, but we actually have kids of that age that drive. Some even drive huge vehicles. Go to the North and South east, you'll see several of them!
