N20bn Accusation: Kogi Takes Legal Action Against EFCC; Says EFCC Pursuing A Political Agenda

Kogi State Government says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been pursuing a political agenda regarding the controversial N20bn bail-out fund the state was accused of.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Kogi State Government says the EFCC’s is attempting to desperately wriggle out of a bad case with another, which is aimed at misleading Nigerians.

The State said this while quoting a letter signed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, which had not said anything different from what had been said so far on the controversial N20bn bail-out fund

In reaction to the press release issued by the anti-graft agency, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said the Government would prepare a comprehensive response to the latest of the desperate moves by the Commission to save its face given its apparent goof and unethical conduct in the matter in dispute.

Fanwo said, “The press statement by the Commission is a malicious attempt to rope the state into a matter that ordinarily has nothing to do with our dear state.

“We maintain the unassailable truth that the Kogi State Government did not operate such account with the bank as affirmed in a letter by the bank. We sympathise with the EFCC as it has been a herculean task to cover the initial misinformation and deliberate deceit by the Commission.”

Fanwo while stressing that the Kogi State Government would react to the latest EFCC statement comprehensively, noted that “every option that is legal will be considered to maintain the innocence and transparency of our Government.”
He added that “Kogites and indeed, Nigerians should rest assured that we will get to the root of this matter.”

Fanwo accused the EFCC of an attempt “to desperately wriggle out of a bad case with another mischief aimed, again, at misleading Nigerians.”

"It vowed that it would take legal action to maintain the “innocence and transparency” of the government.

GYB's foot soldiers are all here.

If you say Kogi state have nothing to do with the account, then publish all the accounts of the state Government and the signatories that signed with KYC forms with thier signatures, then demand that the bank( Sterling) should also publish the details in their KYC form and also produce their contact person for the account and the account officer in the bank.
Isn't it strange that a bank will suddenly wake up and open an account in the name of a state government?

Why did Sterling bank not disclose the balance of the "mirror account" and also state the exact source , purpose and ownership of the N19.3b returned to CBN?

Yaya Bello is a thief, he thinks he can hide behind Buhari son rubbish and divert ₦18billion of state money to his private account. He should better forget about fighting EFCC, otherwise he will end up in prison after his tenure

There's N20b hidden in an account while workers are being owed backlog of salaries, it's like the money was kept aside for his 2023 presidential aspiration.

GYB and his Barawo Team.
Awon Barawo.
Finance commissioner bought a hotel,Goshen Hotel Lokoja, owns houses in Abuja and just built a mansion in his country home.
Accountant general owns the building housing Kogi state health insurance agency and receives exorbitant and unjustifiable rent.Fanwo ,information commissioner built a house worth 60M in Ilorin under corruption. The speaker built a hotel worth 500Million in Lokoja,Kogi State opposite Federal Medical centre and even invited the Chief of staff to commission it.
The commissioner for local Government ,Ozigi was a tenant in Kuje Abuja before he joined Yahaya Bello but today,he is a landlord with tenants in several parts of Lugbe and Kuje.
Edward Onoja concealed his own under his Brothers and you can see how Sahara reporters exposed him the other time.EFCC should come in and investigate Kogi state ministry of Local Government, arrest those local Government treasurers and Director for local Governments (DLG) and they will spill the Beans on defrayed payments and phantom projects never executed buy used to raise vouchers.
The Kogi state specialist hospital contract was single handedly handled by Saka, the health commissioner while Asuku, the chief of staff hijacked that of Okene, central reference hospital from him and saka almost lost his job.
EFCC should investigate the silent cashflow,Kogi state MINISTRY OF HEALTH and how Billions of Naira of funds earmarked for SAVE ONE MILLION LIVES was looted.
