Climate change is a contributing factor to a number of environmental disasters in Nigeria, especially flooding.

Flood carries a lot of things with it. This is the rainy season and considering there has been an accumulation of microorganisms on surfaces, once rain starts falling, it washes the microorganisms into water bodies and many communities rely on these water bodies for drinking and whatnot

Areas that are prone to flooding have tendency of a high rate of waterborne diseases like cholera in such communities.

Water-borne diseases quickly multiply into millions once in contact with water, and flood moves them from one infected community to different others.

People should be very careful about the kind of water that they drink and if they must use that water, ensure to boil them very well. Not warming, there is a difference between warming and boiling. Be sure to boil the water very well to ensure at least that the microorganisms will be limited.
