To me, Obj is the father of democracy in Nigeria. For numbers of reasons;
-The first military Head of state that handed over power to the civilian, willingly, in 1979
-The first civilian that survives its tenure twice after taken over from the military due to number of reasons:
He retired almost one hundred military officers that have in one way or the other involve in politics, including Generals, so as to stop them from interfering in the political affair of the country or plot coup
He stopped the coming back into the government of most of the retired generals, like Babangida, Buhari, Gusau e.t.c from coming back to power.
He brought in the new generation politicians: Jonathan, Namadi sambo, Pius anyim, el-rufai, Nuhu ribadu e.t.c
He is still playing the role of elder stateman both in Nigeria and abroad
Remember that he was one of the warlord of nigeria civil war to keep the nation together
