I don't like land grabbers. They one set of greedy and dangerous humans. The grabbers knew very well that their fore father's that sold the lands are deada so the lazy children want to reposses lqnds that that have been sold and bought. That's how they behave.

Power is said to be transient really! If the Supreme Court judgment had been adhered to sincerely then, all these roforofo might not have happened. Government should be sincere and meditate in an unbiased way to resolve this issue.

It's indeed a serious case.

LASG is being mischievous. Judgment specifically said to allocate the landlords association, 549 plots in Magodo but LASG are offering them plots in faraway places like Badagry and Ibeju Lekki.

Exactly. The judgement was since 1993 o!. The only way they can compensate the landlords association appropriately is to give them the cash equivalent of 549 plots in Magodo at today's prices

549 plots x N75M which is about N42B shocked

Re: Lagos State Government's Statement On Attempt To Evict Residents Of Magodo by seunayantokun(m): 7:59pm On Dec 23, 2021
The judgement made: 'A declaration that members of the Shangisha Landlords Association whose lands and or buildings at Shangisha village were demolished by the Lagos State Government and/or its servants or agents during the period of June 1984 to May 1985 are entitled to the first choice preferential treatment by the Lagos State Government before any other person(s) in the allocation or re-allocation of plots in Shangisha village and I make the order against the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants (particularly the Lagos State Government and Land Use and Allocation committee) as agreed in the meeting held on 16th October 1984 with the Ministry of Lands and Housing and Development Matters, Lagos State'.

But the Lagos State' Government still wants to swindle them after losing in court. A SAN signed that government statement but it's unfortunate that that SAN, because of the evil bound up in their heart, decided to say the judgement did not say they must be given plots in Shangisha whereas it's expressly stated in the judgement that they must be given plots in Shangisha. What is in that judgement that the SAN cannot understand? Why do they want to move the people from their ancestral land to Badagry or Lekki?

From the report, some of the affected landlords accepted lands offered to them in Badagry . So, it's likely that just a few of them are responsible for this action.

The judgment only relates to allocation of 549 plots of land and not possession of any land.
End of discussion.... grin grin grin

Really?
Did you just open ya mouth!
Do the law say another plot outside the location or you think the Supreme Court Justices are not wise by their tendely judgement? God bless our Justices in our Courts!
The best approach is to appeal to the Judgement Creditors,to please and please,in the name of God,we beg' and the State should be seen to be all encompassing and the governor- as the Chief Law enforcer, should personally lead because this is serious on the people whose rights have been trampled upon by the then army rules of many years!
It's painful to those who bought the place genuinely too and those whose land might have been forcefully taken over then but since two wrongs can never make a right, the Governor as a father of the State, should call for Peace and Reconciliation and if possible, something tangible can be added to them in the New Plots Location to calm all nerves!
Let there be Peace in Lagos State!
God bless Lagos State - 'Center of Excellence'

Twisted what? All that the LASG is doing is to show their open disdain and disobedience of law. The supreme court judgement is very clear. 549plots in Shangisha Magodo is theirs so why are they trying to twist a very clear judgement?
They should relocate the current occupiers of the said plots immediately execute the judgement.

Am a lagosian but Lagos State Government is been clever by half with this type of press statement release, the judgement of the Supreme Court was specific, reallocate at "Shangisha phase 2" not reallocate at somewhere else under the planet and not Badagry or Ibeju lekki, you lots civil servants messed up this country, instead of Government to make proper settlement either in cash, government bonds or a kind of lease agreement between the people occupying now and the land creditors, you are going to other places in Badagry and Ibeju Lekki to cause another problem, that's their land, that's their heritage, this press release is total junk and am disappointed at the Attorney General of lagos state for this kind of Press release...

Irresponsible people in power are irresponsible government officials .Allocate and Re-allocate 549 plots of land to the plaintiffs as ordered by the Apex court .The key word , first choice in allocation belongs to Chief Adeyiga and co , but evil men in power were offering lands in badagry and ibeju-lekki after using state powers to corner what is not theirs in the first place since the early eighties . That was how they drove scores away to shitta from their lagos island origin and many more from maroko in the name of lagos is slum .

For other places, you reject am..

He is just like the house owner below
do you know the difference between lekki and ibeju lekki? Ibeju lekki is more than 20 km after ajah.

Lagos State Government should give them back their land or pay for the land on behalf of the allottees that's the right thing to do, not giving them land somewhere else from shagisha... The AG lagos state goof big time on this one abeg... What LASG is trying to do is to disobey the Nation Supreme court, same court we are in trying to get our right vat share, what if we win tomorrow and FG disobey the Supreme Court Judgement just like LASG has done to this rightful owners of the land, what will we do?
People will work in government offices, use the offices to acquire other people's land illegally using government allocation to themselves, that's s corruption, in China you will be shot for benefiting in anything you are in charge of, officially.

Dangotes parents gave birth to Him in Nigeria. Stop calling your life a mistake otherwise that is what it will be.

Pray for Gods will and favor to be upon you wherever you are in this wicked world. The entire world is currently in a turbulent state, even though the grass always looks greener on the other side.

In this case it isn't land grabbing, lagos state took their lands for a purpose yet used it for something entirely different so they went to court. If government is acquiring land for a purpose it should stick to such or something close.

seriously , African leaders are a disgrace . Would it be so easy for these people like say gbolahan mudashiru , or jakande to to use government powers to grab people's lands for state use under whatever guise if said lands is part of their ancestral land , like if they were original lagosians from the part of lagos the land they were claiming for government use falls into ?
@LG , it's been 19 years or so since judgement , stop denying justice .

So you want people to believe "majority" accepted Magotho scheme except one man and LASG still went ahead to propose Ibeju Lekki! How convenient

This press release by LASG should have stated and confirmed that LASG has allocated to their "chosen majority" since 2012 abi 2015 or not

"LASG has the high regard for the rule of law" but failed to implement abi obey a Supreme Court judgement since 2012; juxtapose this with how sameLASG demonize OBJ-led FG when it seized LASG's LGA funds even after a Supreme Court judgement

Now, you even saying you want to prosecute abi persecute any person (of cos the said Chief Adeyiga) for trying to implement a Supreme Court judgement

Politicians can play God but God is the final arbiter

If we have many.people Iike the chief in question Nigeria will be a better country. The facts are clear . The govt took land that belong to the people for the purpose of public good . But they ended up selling same land to rich people and the have the gut to tell the original owners that they will be giving them another place . Is this justice? Even if you wanna give them another place, it should be somewhere with same value as their original place . A land in magodo now goes for close to 90million but the govt is giving them land in area where the value of a plot of land is not upto 10million . Can't you see this I justice. The judgement is very clear . Let the original owners of magodo be the first to be allocated any land in magodo if the govt decided to change course. The govt should stop playing games and address this issue amicably . The residence should be getting ready to re buy those land again or move their house to the new place govt is suggesting for the shangisha landlord

Often times even with court judgements with stubborn person who the judgement is for, what tends to happen is all non built plots are taken over and the ones built are asked to pay something for the land.

Ajagungbale this days are led by a legal team( Almatouf (rip) was one of them such that they have checked the judgement before they embark. Most parties ie financier, ajagungbale, lawyers are promised land as compensation so na win , win. They need to negotiate once the people get judgement oh.

One of my plots the financier was Abiola(rip), the ajagungbale was almorouf(rip) and they had a surveyor(owodina(rip). I had an opportunity to sit down in discussions with Almorouf to discuss my plot and the land business. He was reminiscing at this point. Long story short he invited both parties and we negotiated at his home in ikeja.
