In as much as we have christian and muslim universities, Sharia banking system would not be a bad idea. At least there have been some sharia trading firm registered in NSE. They go by the name "halal".

But on the other thought, Sharia banking system will plunge this nation into chaos because of our northern religious fanatic. They will see it to mean that Nigerian nation belongs to the muslim alone. The policy implementation of the system will be flawed. So why gambling on such a thing? The end of system will be terrible.

Let's get something clear, being a sharia bank does not means it will be in the hand of muslims. No in uk, the 1st islamic bank is headed by a christain

Olawaleba, well you are right to defend what you believe in but if you can tell me one good thing that have come out of the northern muslims in Nigeria in recent times, i will support your sharia or islamic banking. To be truthful if not that i have some southern muslims as friends and they are very sincere with what they preach, i would have concluded that islam is a religion of violence.
