Senseless people. You can't connect the coastal states in the country. You decided to go toward Niger rep. Useless people.

Hope GEJ sees this?

Trash.
Of what economic value is that rail line? They should decline the loan.

Easy.

Start an online campaign.
Collect 1 million signatures to that effect, and watch the impending Fulani fraud die a natural death.

Oyinbo man's conscience is not completely dead. They only act like it does when their livelihood is under threat. This appears not to be the case here.

Whoever came up with this idea is wise. Niger being a landlocked country get most of its goods from Nigeria through our ports. With rail transport cargo trains will be available thereby boosting business. Almost everyone coming in will be to buy goods. Nigeria will gain last last.
Project solely funded by Nigeria without Niger's input...Niger's economy as a whole is not even up to South East/South-South. You people's psychophancy is on another level!

N.B:- can you see all the nonsense pre-conditions these European companies are giving before starting construction... that's why I like the Chinese; dem no dey waste time do project so far the money don dey ground. No wonder you hardly see European/American construction companies in Nigeria. Those people can drag projects with meaningless requirements.

Apparently, the people from Niger republic see Nigeria as their second country.. right from the time of Goodluck Jonathan, they have been in power, pushing for a rail system to their country which GEJ approved despite his hometown Otueke not having a single rail line.
These are the kind of unfortunate leaders we find ourselves electing.

GDP of just South West is far more better than that of Niger Republic. Why not connect North with South South south and South East instead of connecting landlocked Niger with Northern Nigeria.
An average Nigerien hate Nigerians wether you are Muslim Or Christian.
This so called Kano/Maradi railway proposed by PMB has cleared aged long Speculation that Buhari is original from Niger Republic.

The idea was conceived by GEJ govt. actually and not Buhari.. a South South man that was more interested in railway linking Northern Nigeria to Niger republic whereas his home state had no form of development or functional railway system.

This Amaechi get sense so? The economy of South East alone is bigger than that of the entire Niger. Still you want to borrow and construct a modern rail line to Maradi

Something is wrong somewhere!

Other regions in Nigeria are still using locomotive run by coal

We have not developed our country,we are developing another country

It reduces the cost and stress of importing buhari's terrorists when needed.

When a serious govt in a serious country would be looking at how to join the 3 important points of Lagos-Abuja-PortHarcourt by rail, what are our muppets in govt considering? How to join Kano to arid, good-for-nothing, desert-ravaged Niger f**king Republic. As if one needs further proof of how daft the Nigerian govt is.

So, we should build rail for Niger to ease trade for them, right? How about we create a massive inland waterway for them? That'll be more cost effective.

Let me try to make it simple for you to understand.
If the Nigerian government decides to build a railway from Onitsha to Cameroon, who will benefit?
Considering that Cameroonians come to Onitsha to buy goods.

Your logic does not make sense....which country borrows money from one country just to build a project in another country? Does it make sense to you?

Those who signed the pact should answer this question.

However, some business men in Niger Republic, Mali, and Burkina Faso use Lagos port for their import and Nigeria generate money from it and when completed, it will serve domestic industries and play the role of a viable transportation backbone to the West African subregion, starting with the neighbouring Niger Republic for their export and import logistic chain.

In 2013, Jonathan’s govt unveiled plans to build rail line to Niger Republic
The government of then-president Goodluck Jonathan had announced plans to construct a rail line from Zaria in Kaduna state to Niamey, the capital of Niger Republic.
Then-Vice President Namadi Sambo, who made the announcement, had said the rail line will run through Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi states.
Now that the project has returned to the limelight, the president said it was part of a masterplan in an agreement signed in 2015 between Nigeria and Niger, and coordinated by the Nigeria-Niger Joint Commission for Cooperation.

Well this is the arguement. Niger is a landlocked country and it has no means of importing its goods except through air freight or through one of the countries bordering it. Nigeria is hoping that if it can get this railway in place then Niger republic will patronise us hereby we will earn some foreign currency. The argument against though looks at the amount we will be spending to put up this rail corridor. Niger republic is not a very rich country and its annual GDP if you look at it is not that much so really one wonders the amount of business that is expected to be done.

Go back to school and learn basic economics. Niger will not spend more than they have. Nigeria also borrowing to fund this project is a red flag. This is a white elephant's project to unite buhari lost cousins. He confessed to it on video. How do you defend that?

The total annual GDP of Niger Republic is $14B, the total GDP of Anambra and Delta States is more than $30B each, but somebody feels that because he has cousins residing in Maradi he has to do a $2B railway to link them up first before Anambra and Delta States which brings part of the oil revenues used to build the rail project.

lmao... Ignorant ipob who dash you $30 Billion?

Nigeria's entire budget is $36 Billion, but Anambra's budget is $30 Billion?

You rightfully assumed that they have common sense, but sense is not always common for them to see and understand, it flies over their heads.

Their brains stopped and broke down at railway to Nigeria and can not see or understand anything beyond that, not even the fact that it's a new lucrative opportunity for goods and services from Nigeria to access not only Niger, but also Mali, Mauritania, and Chad and these countries chipping and receiving through our ports.

White elephant project is all I see these rail project as. The project is not economically viable neither will this government see it the half way through before they leave, all i see here is just another situation of heaping more debts for the future generations of Nigerians.
I don tire with these people in FG.
