I'm now confused here. Who is fixated with who? I don't see how Ghana would be fixated with Nigeria when Ghana is superior and helping Nigeria to grow. Ghana could have turned Nigeria down but accepted to play out of courtesy and now you are saying Ghana is fixated with Nigeria? Soooo Ungrateful |

Re: Nigeria Vs Ghana On Tuesday August 9 @ 7:45pm by beninman1(m): 6:33am On Aug 09, 2011 |
Yes, it is extremely likely match will be postponed or cancelled. Police wont take any chances as they are currently over stretched. What a shame that these louts have caused so much destruction and mayhem. Already West Ham's game due for tonight has been confirmed as cancelled. England's friendly with Holland tomorrow at Wembley is at risk of being cancelled. FA to meet with Police later today so as to make a decision. On the other hand, i cannot understand why UK Police are not currently allowed to use tear gas, water canon or rubber bullet. Their softly softly approach hasnt yielded any result. |

Nigeria vs Ghana: From the beginning! Sports News Tuesday, August 9, 2011 The first real competitive match between Ghana and Nigeria took place on August 28, 1960, according to Fifa's official website. On that occasion, Ghana ran over Nigeria by 4 - 1 in a Fifa World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, Accra. The clash in 1960 was "the first-ever preliminary match south of the Sahara" according to Fifa. In the 4 - 1 win of 1960, Edward Acquah, Edward Boateng, Aggrey Fynn and Mohamadu Salisu got Ghana's goals while Dejo Fayemi was Nigeria's goal scorer. But soccer pundits say that the clash between the two biggest West African football teams dates back beyond 1960. Records available show that the Ghana and Nigeria may have first clashed on May 28, 1950 in a friendly game in which the Red Devils of Nigeria, as they were known then, triumphed by a lone goal over Ghana. Nigeria's biggest win over Ghana happened in the Kwame Nkrumah Cup on February 23, 1963 when they won 5 - 0.
