Crisis Rocks Osun PDP as Members Petition PDP Over Adekeke’s Certificate, Names, Age

Ahead of the Osun State governorship primary, some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the aegis of Concern members of PDP in Osun State on Monday petitioned the party national leadership over Senator Ademola Adeleke, certificate, names and age.


The petition dated 21st of January, 2022, submitted to the Osun state governorship appeal committee, questioned the documents submitted by Adeleke.

The petition to the appeal committee requested for Adeleke’s disqualification from participating in the forthcoming PDP gubernatorial primaries in Osun State on the grounds of impersonation, discrepancies in the information and documents submitted to the party and INEC.





The petition signed by one Akinloye Adeyi (DSS Officer RTD), said that it will be risky for the party to field Adeleke, bearing in mind what happened in the case of Bayelsa state.



The petition said: “That aspirant should be put through and monitored, writing test by the screening test to ascertain their communication skills and proof of the veracity of their academic qualification.

“That there is no nexus between Annexures 1-15 as it relates to his name, date of birth, admission number, name of the Institution he graduated from and Party membership number.

“The names on the different documents presented by Senator Ademola Adeleke are different and brandishing certificates and other documents that do not carry his name and using affidavits to assert his ownership of the Certificates and documents (Annexure 1-14) did so in error and fraudulently.

“It is one thing for a person to bear multiple names. It is another, however when it becomes a legal problem when the multiple names appear on different official documents and the effort to explain the contradictory names leads to more contradictions.

“That it may be uncanny for a person not to be sure of his name, date of birth, a number of O’ Level Subjects he sat for at WAEC, Admission number and name of the Institutions he graduated from, it becomes an issue of fraud when a man presents official documents bearing conflicting names.

“Mr. Chairman sir and the distinguished members of this Appeal Committee, we have painstakingly weighed the bright chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to win the next governorship election in Osun State, after waiting for 12 years of ACN APC maladministration in Osun State.

“All the sectors of the society are waiting for PDP to rescue Osun State from APC Maladministration for 12 years.

“That the documents presented by Senator Ademola Adeleke from 2017 till date to the Party are marred with severe irregularities as enumerated above, which cannot be glossed over.

“Therefore, it is my humbly request that Senator Ademola Adeleke should be disqualified from participating in the forthcoming gubernatorial primary election in Osun State in the overall interest of the Party and the Osun State.”

In his response, Senator Ademola Adeleke dismissed the various allegations, insisting that he stands by the various documents he tendered.

Dismissing the claims of the group, Adeleke explained that the various names in the documents he tendered are his.

Adeleke, who was the PDP candidate in the last governorship election in Osun State, maintained that the petition against him lacks merit.

He said: “I stand my certificate anytime, any day,” adding that the names in the documents are the names given to him by his parents.

WHO IS AFRAID OF ADEMOLA ADELEKE ?

Our attention has been drawn to a baseless, unfounded petition from an APC agent masquerading as PDP member. The focus again is on names and certficates of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

We make hold to say that Senator Ademola Adeleke has no controvesry regarding his certificates and qualifications. All his submissions conform with the law in all ramifications. He satsfies the requisite electoral requirements. His academic certificates are verifiable and clearly authenticated by all relevant educational authorities.

Our party leadership have access to all the certificates and we are sure due dilligence was conducted by the party during the screening exercise. That anybody will raise the issue already decided by the party screening committee only goes to show that some aspirants are scared of the electoral capacity and structure of Senator Adeleke . They are convinced they cannot win a free and fair primary against the former Senator, hence their clinching to straw to keep him out of the primary.

The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation however assures the party and our numerous supporters that there is no cause for alarm. Senator Adeleke was discharged and acquited when similar frivolous charges were levelled.against him in 2018. In this 2022, the records are clearer and open-Ademola Adeleke is eminently qualified to contest the governorship.

We then ask - who is afraid of Ademola Adeleke ? We are reaching out to delegates ; we are mobilising party men and women. Weak aspirants and their agents are petrified.

We are set for victory at the primary and the general elections. No amount of fake petitions , unfounded allegations can stop the populist Imole movement.

THE PDP NWC RESOLUTION ON EKITI STATE GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTION,AN IMPERATIVE FOR OSUN PDP
Reading through the resolutions of the National Working Committee of PDP on the party primary in Ekiti State,one need not consult a soothsayer to appreciate the NWC of being an unbiased umpire.

The analysis is clear, unambiguous and definitive. Anybody in Anigba group still thinking he can hide behind a finger to raise another trouble in the party should think twice.
If those fomenting trouble in Ekiti State were asked to withdraw their cases from courts,the party in Osun State has already gone back to the High Court, Ile-Ife which gave a defective judgement to reappraise its judgement based on the availability of fresh facts that made earlier pronouncement of the court reached per-incuruan.
Why did the judgement creditor in the matter ran away to far away America?
Why did his crony that was made the Acting State Chairman by some faceless individuals in the party ran away from the court before the end of court proceeding on 20th January,2022 in the same High Court, Ile-Ife?
Whichever way, the battle has been lost by the recalcitrant Anigba Group.
This warfare in Osun PDP is not like others in the past that had to call for round table dialogue to share positions among the aspirants before the general election.
Whoever that is thinking such will happen at this stage is merely wasting his or her time.
The only contest before us now is primary election in which all the 6 aspirants had been cleared by the Screening Committee of the party.
The post of the Deputy Governor will be decided based on the strategic exigency and the merit of the would be lucky candidate.
In is important to emphasise the fact that I a competitive contest of this nature,the best materials must be fielded to slug it out with other candidates from other political parties.
No sane warlord go to war with weaklings in defence. PDP Osun is not an exemption of this illustration.
If anyone under illusion is acting God in the comfort of his house on this matter,thinking that Justice can be manipulated in favour of the minority group in Osun PDP,such person would probably be aware by now that knowledge and legal Jurisprudence is not an exclusive preserve of anyone.

But in Humanity sphere of studies,inductive reasoning is the order of the day.

Let me succinctly say at this juncture that,if anybody or group of persons claiming to be the leaders of the party in the state is or are still thinking to pull Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke down at this point by writing frivolous petitions or things of similar mischievous intent,such should have rethink now.

I read on the social media about last week that an aspirant was boasting that the Anigba Group must be given the post of the Deputy Governor and Secretary to the State Government, otherwise they will destroy the party.
In Solomonic wisdom of the judgement in the Holy Scripture,l am saying you will eventually end in destroying yourself.
A true party man,loyal and committed to the ideals,values and ethos of political chessgame will not say that. Reasonable politician should imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship when matters bothering on decision has to be made intersubjectively through franchise.
Finally,let me advert the minds of Anigba Group members with their Legal Consultant to the fact that in a football match,nobody changes the rules guiding the game in the middle of the competition.
Suffice it to say that the National Working Committee of PDP cannot issue any directive that will clog the wheel of victory in Osun PDP regarding the coming governirship primary election.
The gullible followers of Anigba Group being deceived by their self centered leaders ought to be aware by now that the game is over.
It is better you retrace your steps back to the mainstream of Osun State PDP.
It requires nothing than to be submissive to the constituted authority,simple simplicita,so to say.
