There was a commotion in Ondo State as some gunmen suspected to be Fulani herders opened fire on a filling station at Okeluse, in Ose Council, killing the owner of the station and one of its attendants.

The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday evening in the town, which has suffered recurrent attacks from herdsmen, who killed a first-class monarch and razed a community last year.

The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday evening in the town, which has suffered recurrent attacks from herdsmen, who killed a first-class monarch and razed a community last year.


The slain owner of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) station was identified as Aborowa Oladimeji, also known as Popular, while the name of the other victim was yet to be known at press time.

According to sources in the area, some deadly herdsmen have been terrorising the local government and its environs as the residents live in constant fear.

One of the eyewitnesses, who pleaded anonymity, recounted that the gunmen arrived in the community at about 6:00 pm on Sunday evening and opened fire on the victims.
Sympathisers and people in the area identified the assailants as herdsmen who have allegedly been terrorising the local government for over two years and resumed the onslaught since the beginning of January.

They revealed that the herdsmen hold grudges and grievances against the people of the community for preventing them from grazing on their farmlands.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and stressed that investigations are ongoing on the matter, assuring that the culprits would be apprehended and prosecuted.

MNK said it years ago that THEY ARE COMING and Nigerians all laughed at him and called him a mad man but all he said would happen have happened and more, they think that security would save them when it starts but the security sided with the killers after confiscating weapons owned by the citizens through executive orders.

Under this present administration, blood has become as cheap as water and sometimes I wonder what is wrong with the African man cos majority of the atrocities being committed here wouldn't be taken by the citizens in developed countries.

It's a pity that a president in this 21 century is still talking about grazing routes and his kinsmen are unleashing terror on the citizens supported by the state security agency.
