You are ignorant. He can buy /source his oil from ANYWHERE.
Why should it be sited in a major oil producing state?
Why not in a major petrol consuming state. That is a business decision. Dangote's decision
Just like Nigeria is importing petrol today there are other countries that import petrol and he could export his product. He is not even obliged to sell in Nigeria

India has the largest refinery in the world. It imports its oil
It is one of the largest consumers in the world.
Industries may site close to raw materials or close to market or anywhere else
Europe does not produce any Cocoa but produces more chocolate than Africa. Why?

They transport the crude from the coast, a business man thinks of security, stability, where he will do his business in peace, Lagos provides that...you want them to go to where ipob and cannibals will frustrate them?

No one wants to site business in a region of tribalist...let an Igbo man site a refinery in Biafra land undecided

Anoh Gas project is an SPV project between NNPC (55%) and Seplat (45%). Yes, sighted in Imo state, but Shell has not stake in it. Imo is an oil producing state, but not a major one as you stated. Just for knowledge sharing.

Monopoly is not illegal until it becomes destructive to society actually. And yes it is monopoly using government and unfair leverages. The normal thing is for government to regulate It and help smaller ones have same opportunity the big ones had when they were also small.

Not allowing them to have that is destructive monopoly.
Monopoly includes solely 1 party, dangote is not the only producing the goods he produces, there are others in the different sector he has an investment .

Like i saide the other ones should seek for favour from the govt, like Dangote, Govt won't come to your door step and start planning how you will grow for you, you will go their present them with your plans, just like innoson did.

One major factor that helped dangote was not the fact that he was favoured for tribe then or any other purpose , it was because hr was local and most businesses in Nigeria when he started were foreign owned.
Even BUA has his own govt backing. You can't call it unfair if dangote cannot make him stop producing, it simply competition, having influence
And getting favour and dangote is having the upper hand. He is simply better than the rest in entrepreneurship
Its not even resonable for the country to destabilize his business in the name of making others grow.

U are not being completely honest and u know it.

Monopoly doesn’t necessarily mean only bt one dominated sector and not by market forces bt government regulation and incentives. That’s dangote.

Bua luckily oo had government backing. What if he didn’t he is toast and u will say dangote is a superb businessman? Lol no

I know what business and capitalism is and it’s not that.

I respect only respect dangote for maintaining his monopoly relationship with different governments over the years some people fall out of favor. And he has also built well from the leverage bt pls it is monopoly.

I also accept when he started he was among the few local brands bt there were others trying to come up he wasn’t the only one pls.

Refinery can be sited anywhere. Those locations in the SS he intended the governors were very greedy. They want shares without paid up capital.

He proposed to the then Ondo governor same thing happened.

When he approached Lagos government they inclined to his demand.

One thing you need to know is that this particular refinery doesn't only refine the light sweet crude we have in Nigeria.

He had factored the greedy nature of the niger-delta that is why this project was designed to refine heavy crude oil from other part of Africa like Angola which is less than 2000km from Lagos.

Kudos to Alhaji dangote the black yansh billionaire.
Kudos to Lagos state government.

I would like you to explain the difference between light sweet crude and heavy crude? And why the "sweet" and not just light and heavy crude.

Crude oil is sourced anywhere in the world at competitive rate.. that is why there is global daily oil price per barrel.

Dangote is one of the global leader in business, he is no longer a local champion...that is why he is manufacturing cement in 14 African Countries.
Why I agree with you but you forgot to add the cost of cargo and security plus insurance, this was what killed the govt initiative of sending money direct to once account via agents' got to add these cost at some point. The Oil in the ND is being export refined and re-sold to us in the name of subsidy regime by greedy people in ABJ and you think all is well ,Im praying this is not one of their new opening aka outlet. Nigerians have modular stuff like these off sore but all coded, if you are in doubt you can ask me how

Not true! More than 2 million Americans live less than 1 mile to a refinery. Dangote refinery is sited many miles away from where people live.
We really must commend the project stakeholders in the carefully planned (conscientious) project. Let's try and be positive in this country. This refinery benefits us all. Dangote will not live forever, but he will leave a legacy that generations to come will benefit from.
franchasng:
In few years to come, the pollution that will be generated by this refinery will force residents around Ajah down to Ibeju lekki and maybe VI to start relocating. And if they refuse to move, the health hazards will be incredible. Residents will be exposed to dangerous radiation and heat wave.

It wont be funny.

Heavy industrialization comes with a price to pay.

US and other first world nations have a reason why they moved most of their manufacturing activities to China and other Asian countries.

If you see the pollution Chinese cities like Shanghai battle every now and then, I doubt any African nation can manage it

Obviously you still need a lot of enlightenment, geographical location isnt an impediment when it comes to crude oil. I assume you already know this but your ethnic bigotry will not allow you face and accept reality and what dividends it holds. Liberate your mind my brother.

So, you expect an hausa man to go to where he knows can remove itself from Nigeria. Hahahha. Una no serious at all. You keep shouting Ipob this and that...blowing pipes here and there, and you still expect him to carry himself there so you can mess him up. It wont work. Now tell me who Dangote will support in 2023? It is obvious...it is Tinubu. Even Femi Otedola. All those billionaires are behind him cos they know he is a real business man. But you will never see Tinubu on camera there ...but he goes there secretly too. Lol. Maybe during inauguration you will see him.

Mind you, Dangote needs to export out, so he needs the nearest place to the port. Despite Lagos being the best option, he felt it would be too costly, so he approached the nearest state to Lagos which is Ogun. If you hear the amount Amosun the Ogun State gov wanted to collect from him, the cut he wanted, you sef will know some people are just id.iots. Go and read the recent outburst of the present ovum gov about Amosun. That Amosun killed Ogun State. That Amosun should be stoned.

The same Tinubu that everyone is accusing now rushed to Dangote and told him to come to Lagos. They took him right to where Free trade zone is and gave him so much incentives. Dangote was perplexed that he didnt know anyone in Nigeria can be business minded like Tinubu. If we were to leave it with the gov them....hahahaha..the gov too would have put useless charges...but oga at the top who is Tinubu is the one who handled it, and the governor just followed up. Oga talked, gov followed. No disobeying oga's words.

Oga, no one will ever support Dangote like how Lagos state supported him. Ordinary farm he wanted in Kebbi or so (not sure), but I know it is in the same north where he came from, if you hear the demands of the governor, he just walked away.

Now, states and their governors are beginning to see why it is good not to put profit forward. Those governors always act like prodigal sons who haven't seen wealth whenever they hear Dangote is around the corner.

Even FG did not give support at the onset cos dem dey "beef" Lagos. But when they saw that it is reality and after APC had taken over, Tinubu had to call Dangote to relax and allow Federal Government too gets its share. That was how NNPC got some % from the deal also.

See eh! Eyes dey inside the project. All you people just shouting Tinubu this, Tinubu that dont know anything
I do not support the man called Tinubu cos I know there are more brilliant minds....but let me tell you...he is smart. So, you all think Tinubu does not have enough cut from the deal through various channels? Later you all will start asking how he got his money. Lol. It is done everywhere in the world. Femi Otedola who is always in the picture knows he is going to be on Forbes soon as a billionaire. Lol.

Do you know what is in that place he built his refinery?

There is an airport (ongoing). There is also a sea port there (ongoing). And Lagos knows that the refinery will make Lekki Seaport and Airport be realities. Now imagine two international airports and seaports in only Lagos. One international airport in IKEA and another in Lekki. One seaport in Apapa and another in Lekki. Hmmmm. Una dey use Lagos compare your oil states. I keep telling you all...sea is the ma.ddest money ever. What is oil?

I pray God blesses me to have my ship soon. I will rather invest in buying a ship than an aeroplanes. That ocean is the secret of Lagos money. Is there no other ocean in the SS? Why have they not built it well? They will keep referring to FG. Lol. Cant they step on toes, take oil money by fire and force and build their SaaS ports ...nope. they will just be shouting IPOB...and then they appoint governors who go there to steal. Yes, Tinubu is a thief to many, but look at his works. He has his cuts there, but doing it. Your governors are busy looting anyhow. Lol.

3 mins drive to his refinery from airport. Hotels dey there. See as the whole of Lekki, Ajah down to Epe will turn to a big city with 5 stars hotels everywhere.

If you were Dangote, would you go to the IPOB area? Make dem continue shouting Nnamdi Kanu is their another saviour na. grin

You even called Imo of all states. So, its that your former governor Okorocha who used your money build statues that can reason well? Or this present governor Hope that will reason like a real human? I can bet you, the foundation of that refinery would have been blown up like 5 times. Continue shouting Biafra na. Continue shouting Nnamdi Kanu. If you like, continue yelling Orji Kalu, Ayim, and that useless gov of that state coming out again.

If it's just this Dangote project, Tinubu is better than all those useless mofos ibos are presenting. Go and bring Charles Soludo and let's talk. If you say he is already a gov, then relax and go to Delta and bring Pat Utomi on board. Though from Delta but an ibo friend. Yes na. But una want us vote you in, una dey bring useless failures. As corrupt as you say Tinubu may be, he is 100 billion times better than all the politicians ibo is presenting. Even better than Jonathan.
Hmm... so much knowledge here.

If you visit any American or UK hospital, you will marvel at the names of sicknesses and diseases being diagnosed. I haven't been to US but I have lots of close childhood friends and classmates plus relatives working in different health facilities as Doctors, Nurses, Lab Scientists, etc.

Many Americans live with terminal illnesses and diseases for decades, many have cancer and its seen as nothing. lung cancer, different versions of cancer and if you see them you wont know until you see their medical history.

The only thing sustaining them is their exceptional healthcare system that have the capacity to handle and manage any sickness or disease, whether the patient is rich or poor so long as he or she is a citizen.

That's why they consume GMO foods without much worries too.

Nigeria and West Africa don't have such competent healthcare system that can manage such ailments when they arise.

As a nation gets more heavily industrialized, they invest hugely in healthcare and environmental protection and management to curtail the resultant negative effects of the industrialization.

I am a trained Engineer with years of experience. I have undergone several environmental health, and safety traininga and gotten certifications, so I know what I am telling you.

I am not hating on Dangote, he is so way above my level for me to be hating on him even though I dont accord him much respect I accord to seasoned entrepreneurs who started from scratch and rose to riches without government assistance which Dangote enjoyed for decades now and part of what made him who he is.
