Nike have ended their sponsorship of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood after he was arrested and later released on police bail, Newspremises reports.

The 20-year-old was arrested at the end of January on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman. He was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill before being released on bail last Wednesday February 2.

United have confirmed that Greenwood will not return to train or play for the club until further notice.

Nike initially suspended their relationship with the forward but they have now confirmed that their partnership with him has ended.

A spokesperson for the company said, via The Athletic : “Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete”.

GMP said in a statement last Wednesday: “A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation.”

A statement from United on the day Greenwood was arrested read: “Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice.”

As a Footballer, I can relate, I feel his pain

You know, All these Oyibo no dey like Africans, Cos even if it was an African man now, Lai Lai grin I doubt if he'll quit football with all these accusations to his name grin Whereas, This Oyibo people can do it.

Don't be surprised if Mason Greenwood decides to quit football, because if you check very well, he has few or no people surporting him sef, even the club he's playing for are not even helping him, same with his team mates, they're acting as if he's been charged with first degree murder, and now Nike parting ways with him, He must be depressed at the moment

It took him years to get to this level and you can see how fast his FAME, NAME and STATUS just dropped so low cry

If this guy manages to come back playing football, I bet if he'll still renew and play for Manchester United when his contracts expires.

As a man, whenever you become successful, Be wise, because WOMEN are always the BAIT to CATCH/TRAP MEN, See how far Greenwood's matter went, I'm just imagining what would have happened to Ronaldo if he was found guilty, kai! Thunder go Shaa fire that his accuser undecided

It started from Bible, it's happening today and will continue happening.
