Oando Plc has said it did not import adulterated Premium Motor Spirit into the country, in contrast to what the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited said on Wednesday.

The NNPC Group Managing Director, Mele Kyari, had said the national oil firm received on January 20, 2022, a report from its quality inspector on the presence of emulsion particles in PMS cargoes shipped to Nigeria from Antwerp-Belgium.

He said NNPC investigation revealed the presence of methanol in four PMS cargoes imported by its Direct Sale Direct Purchase suppliers namely MRS, Emadeb/Hyde/AY Maikifi/Brittania-U Consortium, Oando and Duke Oil.

But Oando, in a statement released to the Nigerian Exchange Limited on Thursday, said, “Following media reports listing Oando as one of four importers that supplied methanol-blended Premium Motor Spirits into the country, we hereby state that Oando did not import and supply PMS that was adulterated or substandard.

“The PMS supplied by Oando met Nigeria’s import specification. We are committed to working assiduously with the NNPC and industry to identify the root cause(s) of the subsequent contamination of the PMS supplied.

“We want to assure the public that Oando as a responsible corporate citizen would not partake in the importation, distribution, or marketing of substandard petroleum products.

This is how they will be pointing accusing fingers at each other until the matter will die just like that. That was how these fraudulent marketers were receiving subsidy payment and not delivering petroleum products to Nigerians and those who managed to imported the product were diverting it to sell in Chad and Benin republic until we didn't hear anything about them.Nobody has been punished up till now.

Nigerians always act foolishly in cases like this. This is how this matter will die down and those whose cars got damaged from the bad fuel will be left to their fate.
In saner climes, whoever is the minister for petroleum and NNPC chairman will resign. But the current petroleum minister is a 5tupid old man who never takes any blame, always looking for who to blame for his own failures

Nonsense.

An era of irresponsible leaders!

No one takes responsibility or are we going to hear that it was a snake that imported the adulterated product?

This just shows how inefficient the NNPC is and how no Quality Control is put in place by them. You claimed four marketers were responsible and still said you didn't check for Methanol during your quality control exercise. Why should we believe NNPC? NNPC could not detect Mathanol but are quick to mention who brought the adulterated fuel to the country. Is this not sick?

*Sigh! What a cruise country, nobody is actually ready to take responsibility for this. The finger pointing is so lame and very embarrassing.

Lol and why won't they? Nigeria is a country where facts and figures that are indisputable are hard to come by. That's why no one knows Tinubu's age, where he went to school etc

NNPC is acting like their master Buhari, and are trying very hard to avoid taking responsibility for their failure. First they blame MRS, then they blame Oando, but they will never blame themselves.

NNPC, NAPIMS, DPR are all some of the most incompetent organizations in this country. All they know is to be doing deals with contractors and vendors. Very busy work, but no end product at the end of it.

And this is something I noticed about Nigerian public organizations! On a daily basis, everybody is busy carrying files up and down the place and attending meetings, yet you cannot point to any specific, tangible outcome or result.

This fuel importation is a serious mystery

Since Jew's broke out about Thia adulterated fuel, accusations has been flying left, right and center with no-one admitting again that they are in charge of importing fuel

at the question now is, who is really important fuel?

Is it NNPC or those companies they accused
