Part of the reason why they go abroad is lack of university spaces...especially in government run universites.

In my field, medicine, for example, spaces here in Nigeria for admission are very tight (before corruption etc comes in). So, go to Ukraine, get an education and pass, and graduate, come back and write the certification exam here, and you are good to go.

And it is relatively cheaper.

(UK....a bit expensive, and too too competitive. When even native born, white UK students can't get in easily self.

USA...you have to do 4 years of college, graduate, write MCAT for a chance at 4 years in medical school...and scholarships for FOREIGN students are very very limited. Expensive.

Russia...a bit expensive...but the main issue is LANGUAGE ...not everyone has a facility for language.)

I don't understand the Nigerian leaders. They should arrange an evacuation for Nigerians in Ukraine through Poland and other surrounding countries. Diplomatic agreements should be made whereby Poland is just an exit point for pickup. Only Interested Nigerians who wish to be airlifted back home will be allowed passage at the border and heavily guarded and escorted to the pickup point.
