In some places in Abuja, a plate of food with bottle water goes as high as 10K. The way people live expensively in Abuja is what I can't decipher. If you no get ride, ur money go finish for Bolt grin grin grin

I dey tell u o.
For for typical cornershops in abuja cost pass restaurant foods sef.
And they keep opening more expensive eateries.
Lest I forget, yesterday I couldn't find a place to buy chinos trousers in gwarimpa for less than 15k

This seem to be the norm in yorubaland, one small ball of akara being sold for #50

Likewise here in Yenagoa. The state of only eight LGAs that produced nothing except pure water and fish. Even fish prices here are highly exorbitant compared to Abuja.

Liar.

Before making some assertion, know that there are people currently in SouthEast.

This Akara is going for #200 in Onitsha, Awka and Enugu.

Food is relatively cheap in SouthEast except frozen fish and meat which is same everywhere in Nigeria.

The only issue confronting SE residents is high cost of accommodation and lack of business friendly atmosphere due to excessive tax and levies.

I bursted ur lies to clear wrong assumption because I know you are not in the East as we speak.

Big lie.
You just confirmed that, you've not been to the East this year. Food and other commodities in the East is far from being affordable. That Akara is about 1k here in the East.

Una go sit-down for either Kaduna, Kano, Lagos or Ibadan dey assume things wey dey happen for East wey I dey.

Is this an old thread that was brought to front page? Cos this are big Akara balls being sold for #50naira. Akara has been #50 naira for a smaller size for at least 2/3years now.

In Lagos, when we say one cup, we mean one derica cup and that is about #600 per cup of beans.

Pls no vex o but I must disagree with you there. My wife is a trader and we are in Lagos. A cup is different from a derica. If a customer comes to our house and says he wants to buy two cups of beans we measure with milk cup and if she says she wants derica we ask how many.
A cup is not the same as a derica.
Even at mile 12 we know the difference.

Abeg no vex say I chook mouth.

I am surprised you can still buy something to eat for 250 with the astronomical dollar/pound exchange rate for naira. You should be worried about the excessive insecticides and pesticides in the beans.

Oga they didn't cheat you o. With the cost of beans and groundnut oil, gas, and even the fuel to grind the beans, those akara balls are fair at 50n each. In my area in Ibadan, I heard my hairdresser telling someone some time back that they no longer sell 50n beans with food again. The least is 100n even then very small. Also, no more moimoi 50n. The smallest is 100n.

I moved to Lagos from Abuja recently, and have been struggling to adapt for several reasons.

1. Food costs a bit more in Lagos than in Abuja.

2. A-20 minute distance by foot costs at least #150-200 here, unlike in Abuja where it's at mostly #100.

3. Water(drinkable water) in Abuja was almost free, and very salubrious. Here at the island, you buy sachet water (pure water) which is the only affordable water that boasts of some minimal degree of purity.

I was shocked when I ordered for Akara of 250 and got those nearly invisible 5-balls. I nearly refused it, if not for the beautiful girl that was leering at me.
To be a man, no be bobo juice.

It's in order...N50 for one
