Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has described some recent utterances of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on burning national issues as worrisome and tyrannical.


The group in a statement by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said such disposition would likely destroy Wike’s political career.

He said the Governor was behaving like Idi Amin of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

While accusing Wike of openly claiming responsibility for the recent judgement against Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ohanaeze said “we are reviewing the legal implications of
Governor Wike’s vexatious outbursts over the Abuja Federal High Court judgement that sacked Ebonyi Governor, the Deputy Governor, and the House of Assembly members.”


Ohanaeze claimed that “this is a confirmation that there is a grand hooligan operation to destabilize the Southeast, which is unfortunately, coming from a man who denied his Igbo identity”.

Isiguzoro added that, “the massacre of Igbos in Obigbo (Oyibo) in Rivers State is still fresh in our minds.

“The sponsors of the grand scheme and conspiracy to remove the Ebonyi Governor remains a subversive and provocative invasion aimed at distracting the South-East from the 2023 presidential election.

“For how long will Wike realize that he should be a shining light of the PDP and the Niger Delta rather than picking up fights on all fronts?

Ndigbo will forgive Governor Wike if he retreats and apologizes to Umahi, but disastrous consequences await him if he continues in these futile expeditions.”

Wike is greater than Ohaneze and anything he says in PDP is final!

On Umahi’s case, he is by far currently the best governor in the SE and a million Wike cannot remove him from his position. Olodumare bless Umahi.

80% of Ikwerre clan are pure Igbo aborigines.
Wike did all to spite the Igbo as a normal Bini man, but time shall tell.

But there is no difference between Umahi and Wike.

What is making wike feel so powerful is rivers state money and resources that he completely controls as governor immediately he leaves office he will be totally rendered useless and powerless.

And when did Ohanaeze start supporting Umahi?

Why should Wike be blamed? When people like Umahi and others having cowardly searched their consciences and found themselves guilty, decamped to APC for their survival, Wike remained with Fayose and others. Why blame them?

Umahi diverted the attention of people from his real intention of trying to contest the presidency under APC. Rather than go straight to the point, he claimed that Wike had become an emperor in PDP. Umahi himself is today the emperor in Ebonyi state, dealing with his opposers in different wicked manners. Wike’s fellow governors and many moneybags have not been forthcoming with finance and a lot of them depend on him for finances. What do you expect? He who pays the piper dictates the tune. PDP gave Umahi all the opportunities he got politically and yet he paid back by abandoning the party out of selfishness. Wike has remained steadfastly over the years.

Ohanaeze should bow their face in shame. They leave the substance and chase the shadow many times.

As an Igbo Ebonyi man, Wike is 100% right and have our total support as for Devil Umehi, he must vacate that seat, bcus votes can't be transferable...he is taking us the Eboyans for granted.....as for Ohaneze nde-oshi na nda-arurala, they can go to hell, who cares for those street urgins and criminals....

They have never been in opposition with the north .

Anytime Igbos have a problem with the north it is about how to share power with the north.

The entire IPOB biafra scam was just an autistic attention screeching scam.

Now we are not hearing of their biafra project anymore, it is Igbo presidency which they expect Buhari and the north to handover to them.

Sincerely Wike had really tormented Ipobians, from denying any trait of Igbo in his blood to calling Ipig lord and savior Lamidi Malu series of names and now standing on Umahi's deck. It was even reported he is going to take the revered vice presidential slot reserved for the Igbos by PDP.
