Eguavoen's squad depth against the black stars of Ghana was impressive but they failed to impress the home fans as they were held to a 1-1 draw and failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 2006.



An eleventh-minute strike from Arsenal's Thomas Partey opened the scoring for Ghana while Eguavoen's team was favored by the VAR and got a penalty which Troost-Ekong stroke cleanly to hand the Super Eagles of Nigeria the equalizer in the 21st minute.





The game between Nigeria and the black stars of Ghana was a tough one but two Super Eagles players' underperformance caused Eguavoen's squad the ticket to Qatar earlier today.

We really need a quality goalkeeper.
But the players did their best & there was not much difference in quality between us & Ghana. We didn't lose. Both matches ended in a draw.
Most of our players are average but are overrated thereby putting so much expectations on them to just come & beat Ghana. In reality there is not much difference in quality among the top 10 African soccer countries. Any of them can beat the other on a good day.
Only Morocco against DRC had it easy in the playoffs. & DRC is not among the top 10. Ivory Coast should have been in their place.

Forget who make mistake, someone must make a mistake for a team to win a match. Nigeria needed to lose so the nation can face reality

Don't forget it's "Ghana Must Go" we are referring to oooo..

Our footballers are good. The Coach tactics and strategy are questionable. Those tactics only worked against a Sudan and Guinea Bissau and not his last 3 matches which he did not win, Tunisia and Ghana

The score line of the 10 African teams in this play off gives you an idea that the quality of the teams aren't so different.

What the nff need is to get a coach who can blend players from our local league with a few from the foreign leagues to get a perfect team.
