you who claims to have been involved in a busiiness negotiation process before. I am sure that there have been negotiations you have engaged in, without experience but the conviction and know-how that you can deliver the job once awarded to you. There is always a start. The company may have had the know how but not the experience. How they put forth that know-how for the awarding of the contract was left to the awarder to decide. however, I would not rule out the fact that they may have had the know-how for implementation. periodt!

Bros, please kindly forget about the experience you are talking about for a minute.

The least anybody asking me to approve a project for him is to convince me he or she can do it. Experience is just one of the ways people use to convince that they can deliver. So if you don't have that the give me reason to give you the job, any logical reason. Not when I even ask you what you will use for the job and you answer you don't know, then please go and learn it and come back when you know.

We all know this project was just to move money out, simple. It was only rejected maybe Ameachi wan chop alone

Your argument is pointless, so you want a govern.ent contract to be awarded to a company that can't prove they are competent enough? Even if it's a new company they ought to prove that they have enough technical knowledge to carry out the assignment.
Whenever they say Nigeria is bad people like you are the cause.

Titan Trust Bank Limited, which barely three years ago won the central bank’s permit to run within Nigeria, is acquiring 89.4 per cent stake in Union Bank of Nigeria Plc.
Osibanjo is a very smart man!

The ministry of transport has quite a KPI that has enabled them to make smart business decisions about the direction of all projects under them. The proposal ought to have been approved. The failure cost lives. Let’s not forget this. It was nothing but petty politics. Is it not stupid that after the tragedy the same proposal has now been approved?
It is called a hostile take over like what standard trust did with Uba.
The thing is titan trust at least has three years of banking experience with an approved banking license from the cbn even though we do no know how it sourced it's capital?

The company that outsmart Airtel to buy 5G license don't have record yet won the contact and may probably engage professional.

Osinbajo refused to sign that security budget for the railways now see.

There is no need to over elaborate or bamboozle people with grammar

The proposed system is simply CCTV

We are not stupid in Nigeria

What difference would CCT V make over hundreds of miles of rail track without a response team in place?
Can cameras be shot or otherwise disabled?

Is a CCTV system at 3.7 billion as a "pilot" a sensible approach?

We know Osinbajo and Tinubu are very scared of the rising profile of Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and they are really worried he is growing in leaps and bounds! Na una go shame Las Las.

Rising profile indeed.
grin grin grin grin grin grin

Thank God you knew his profile was below per initially and it needed a boost before he can come out to say he wants to contest.

I have always said it that you people are just hating on the Yorubas and that's why you are continually scared of PYO and BAT and you can't keep Tinubu out of any equation you come up with. If Tinubu were to be from your side, you would have gladly supported him. D grin grin

E kon dey pain you say he's not your side so you would rather tarnish his image. D grin grin

Since Bubu is a mumu like you people use to say now, that's why he order immediate implementation after the blast and kidnap.
So Buhari can do something that you will support him, of course, it's in favor of coward Amaechi. Who gives out a project of such magnitude without proper findings. As Amaechi needs money to buy presidential form now, he wants to cash out on Nigerian task payer's money but then Tinubu who has not hold a public office since he left governorship of Lagos State is more corrupt.

There drones should be operated in shifts 24 hours round the clock.

100 like for this,, you just spoke my mind . This is what I have been saying elsewhere since, since we can't get a satalite in space to monitor and this guy's, at lest will can by drone to monitor them 24/7 and kill them with and accurate targeting ...just like Russia hitting Ukraine armory with accurate precision. And you can't find a group of bandit or man men hit and run to hide somewhere in Forest in USA,, that they can't snook them out

...this is what will need and not camera inside train that can't capture the face of the bandit hitting outside or shoot at them when the attack happens, the one that happen I airport few days ago with boldness, have they be able to find them with the CCTV cameras at the airport? Government is not serious in Fighting this people that is why they have this boldness to attack train, kill some people and demanding ramsome from the ones they kidnapped. The Boko Haram sponsor names USA released has gov. Move to arrest these sponsor? .... It paind tfat is the messes that is suffering this things . This gov is not serious

Well that is one perspective.

Another perspective is how much is all that going to cost and how much is the rail generating?
In other words is it a viable project?

It is tempting for politicians to produce these "infrastructure" toys but are we ready for them
ASUU is on strike and our young people are restless
I do not agree with these infrastructure "investment" at this time

Human development i.e education should be our priority
People bombing trains feel they are not stakeholders in Nigeria.
A military approach will entail more spending and might not work.

How do we make everyone feel they are stakeholders in the Nigerian project?
Imagine Amaechi request 3 billion . Does the train generate 3 billion? Where will the money come from?

the money will come from the ministrys budget - if you can read

there is nthing wrong with infrastructural development - it boosts economic indices of a country

We don’t need any N3.7billion to monitor train. What we need is the political will to kill all the terrorists and their supporters. Bomb and kill them at sight. Level all the villages they are using as hideout, escape and launching routes. Enough of this madness. A very ruthless response is the only way not paying some friends of Amaechi billions to monitor train movement.

Neighbourhood watch is not rail track surveillance.
Surveillance equipment should be commissioned with the input of security organization not by a Minister and his friends. Do you sit in an office and decide what type of rifles soldier should use without their involvement ?

The observations raised by Osinbajo and the FEC on Amaechi's request are all valid. To worsen the case Amaechi said the N 3.7 billion was for a pilot to see if it works and then later extend acroas the country. So he already has a way out if the money ended up being a waste which is clearly the intention going by the engagement of a 2 year old company without requisite experience in the area.

The speedy approval by Buhari in the wake of the disaster that happened without clarifying issues already raised shows an impulsive and shallow Chief Executive who is just looking for a quick fix to show he is doing something.

Finally, Amaechi's statement is manipulative and insincere, aimed to take advantage of the situation without necessarily solving any problem but his own apparent pecuniary benefits from his annointed contractor. God help us if someone like that becomes President!

CCTV might , emphasis on might help in recognizing and apprehending assailants at a later date.
It has no value in real time during an attack 100 miles into uninhabited bushes and would not save any lives if the assailants choose a remote target and have some insider information as seems to be the case . The response would not be made easier by CCTV but rather if the trains have communication with some 24 hour surveillance station .None of that is realistic considering that despite the fact that the trains are paid for with loans they are not making money instead the fares are subsidized. This brings into question the viability of passenger trains. Are they viable at the rates Nigerians can afford given the value of the naira and almost all the inputs are imported.
Where is the money for the regular replacement and repair of destroyed trains and lines coming from? Not the trains but the South to subsidize trains to Kaduna.

The trains should focus on containers all the agricultural produce and animals should be put in containers or wagons and escorted with special forces paid for from the freight. We are not ready for passenger trains when there is social unrest

What is wrong with a pilot scheme if it can save lives? If the project was carried out on time, some people would have been alive today.

Ok, since your godfather Osinbanjo refused to approve, did he offer any better alternative?

A Pilot scheme without any guarantees to work as expected, costing N 3.7 billion and awarded to a 2-year old company without any relevant experience? Does it make any administrative sense to approve such a project? Who told you lives would have been saved when the project already came without guarantees to work as expected? A project without clarity and explanations as to workability? Didn't you read what the leaked memo said or you are just a paid blind supporter of Amaechi?

Amaechi had opportunities to go and sort out the issues raised and re-present but he chose to be quiet because he knew he just wanted to play on the intelligence of the FEC. And playing on the intelligence of Buhari is what he finally did.

Since you are an avid supporter of Ameachi and his phantom digital project expected to save lives, can you please explain here how it is expected to work? Would it have stopped bombs and IEDs from being set on the train tracks? How would it be powered across miles of rail tracks without consistent electricity supply and guard against vandalism?
