THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS; SARAKI ALIGNING WITH SDP SCHOOL OF THOUGHT.
As the 2023 General elections approaches, preparations have begun by political parties across the country.

Political parties in Nigeria have started holding NEC meetings to prepare adequately for their party conventions. Some parties have already held their conventions.

Political candidates are not left out, some have publicly declare to run for elective positions.

Why many prospective candidates are still holding consultations and lobbying for support.

One Presidential candidate has impressed me the most with his approach, robust consultations and lobbying.

He is, Former Nigeria Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki. Like the developed countries he has shown how Elective party tickets are won, not by “panicking’’ and issuing threats to your fellow aspirants.

His robust consultations and lobbying remind me of Cameroon football Legend Samuel Eto’o how he consulted, lobbied to win the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

Dr Saraki has done something no other presidential aspirant has done.

He has extensively engaged/Consulted the Youths, the next generation or should I say the incoming generation of leaders.

This is an action that is reminiscence or like what our great party SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (SDP) is about, INVESTING IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS.

SDP is the only party in Nigeria that has given the youths or younger generation a chance to participate in the political, electoral and selection process.

To buttress my point only last week our party at National Level handed over Confirmation Certificate to young, enterprising and innovative young men as State party Chairman of Bayelsa and Cross Rivers state.

In Rivers state during the last Local Government elections we fielded the youngest councillorship candidate and we fielded so many politically young literate candidates as chairman, Vice chairman and councilors.

In the long history of our party we have always recognized the roles of the youth in the political, selection, key decision making that is why during the formation of our great party in 1990 , a young 20 year old Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam was involved , he will go on to become our Current National Secretary of the SDP.

The women have not been left out, currently we have two female presidential candidates, the only party in Nigeria currently to have such.

49% and 69% of the voting population belong to Women and youth respectively.

There is so much suffering today in our country due to bad leadership.

The current political class of leaders have failed us.

Its time for the next generation of leaders to step forward and emerge in 2023.

Like I have always insisted for over a year now, as young people we must take ownership of the political process.

We have the voting numbers and strength to choose among ourselves who will leads us at every level of governance.

We must disabuse our minds, that this can be achieved sooner rather than later.

And currently only one political party in Nigeria can offer the younger generation that platform to participate in the political, selection and electoral process.

That party is the SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (SDP).
Hurry join the SDP today.
As a party we believe in social justice and social welfare.
All our policies are people oriented designed to positively touch the life of all Nigerians not just indirectly but directly.

This is not the time to be Non-Partisan because when you fail to do the needful, the needful will come to you (in the form of bad government policies that will affect your Jobs, education, social life, businesses etc.).

We must put patriotism at the fore front of nation building.

Written by Tonye Nemieboka SDP chairmanship candidate for Ogu/Bolo LGA in the April 17th 2021 local government area elections in Rivers state.

Maybe in 2027 SDP can give the APC and PDP a good run for their money

In 2023, APC and PDP will totally dominate.
