In 2019, 28.6M Nigerians voted in the Presidential elections. Below is the voter turnout by geopolitical zones and the percentage.

NORTH EAST 4,786,266 16.73%

NORTH WEST 8,769,780 30.65%

NORTH CENTRAL 4,814,267 16.83%

SOUTH WEST 4,366,026 15.26%

SOUTH EAST 2,342,740 8.19%

SOUTH SOUTH 3,533,559 12.35%

28,612,638 100.00%

To win the Presidency of Nigeria, you need to win the majority of votes cast and at least 25% of the votes cast in 24 states.

By the 2019 election data, 30% of the voter turnout is in the Northwest. If you aggregate the votes in the North, it constitutes about 64.2% of the votes cast in 2019.

In the South, the SW has the highest turnout at 15.26%, while the SE has the lowest turnout at 8.9%. The South has a combined total turnout of 35.8%.

In 2023, voter turnout is critical. The North has high numbers but is almost at its peak with little room for growth, considering that President Buhari, the most admired politician in the North, is not on the ballot.

Southern Politicians, activists and influencers should work for higher turnout and, more importantly, campaign in the North Central and North West. The North East is also in play.

Any candidate who does not maintain a 35% voter share in the Northwest and East and winning South East, South-South and North Central with an average of 25% turnout will not be competitive. In fact cannot win.

Winning the South West will help, but most candidates of APC or PDP in the last two elections are competitive, with no massive win on either side. The SW and NC remain swing zones.

Zoning the Presidency will reduce the division to historical fault lines and enhance focus on competence.

.
I don't know how true the figures are
But you should know that the election was so rigid
That it was vivid in the eyes of everyone
Even the rumors of underage allowed to cast vote in the north in support of Buhari added so much in the numbers they by increasing the figures of the north
Seriously I don't think this voting of a thing is worth it in nigeria
Cus before you even cast your vote the results are already out
So casting the vote is just to fulfil all righteousness
Nigeria should adopt digital voting
Everyone stay at home and cast their vote
That way figure cannot be manipulated

This will never change...

It's been like this since 1999...

N/W contributes the highest votes in all the presidential elections....

If the South gets the highest votes, it means the election is rigged.

These people marries four wives, gives birth to children like they lay eggs and believes that it's Allah that takes care of children and not them. And the politicians utilize the opportunities by using these kids for votes and for hoodlumism...
