Yuguda: Governors, Not Buhari To Blame For Nigeria’s Challenges by iwaeda: 8:23am On Apr 21, 2022
A former governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, Wednesday, came hard on the 36 states governors in the country, describing them as “selfish persons” who were not development-driven.

He said that rather than blaming the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the challenges facing the country, the governors should accept responsibility due to their lack of focus and vision for the states.

Yuguda stated these in Abuja shortly after being unveiled as the Director-General and national coordinator of the Tein Jack-Rich Presidential Campaign Organisation.

Jack-Rich, an oil magnate and founder, Belema Oil producing Limited, who is an indigene of Rivers State is a presidential aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress.

The PUNCH reported that a former governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, had also declared interest to contest the presidency in 2023.

Yuguda said, “I have worked with many governors both in my first and second tenure and I know the mentality of most of our governors and unfortunately most of our Nigerian governors are not development-driven. Their focus is not on developing Nigeria. It is something else. They know better.

“If they (governors) focus on building Nigeria today, the country would have been a different place. It is not about the President. It is about who is in the field making the difference. If they (governors) had a shared vision of a great country, Nigeria would have been one of the greatest countries”, he stated.

Yuguda, while accepting his new role, said he was honoured to have found himself in a project where youth is seeking to get the APC presidential ticket.

Describing Jack-Rich as a highly educated, very successful businessman, he said the presidential hopeful would provide solutions to the myriads of challenges facing the country, especially agitations in various parts of the country.

“Jack-Rich belongs to the youth and middle-aged and I don’t believe he shares the beliefs of the elderly in Nigeria because if the elderly had made a difference we would have seen all the difference.

“I don’t know who among us that sign a contract with almighty Allah to be a Kanuri, Fulani, Hausa, Igbo Yoruba, Ijaw, or any other tribe. The Bible and the Quran stand to guide us today and things are happening wrongly because the morality our two religions teach us is what we have forgotten.

“All these wicked things separating us we are going to eliminate them, and he Jack-Rich will do all the elimination. He is here to make a difference. The challenges that we have now, the solution is Jack-Rich”, he said.

Speaking earlier, Jack-Rich appealed to the agitating sections of the country to embrace dialogue as the veritable instrument for the sustainable growth of the country.

According to him, Nigeria’s current challenges were due to leadership deficit.

He promised to provide purposeful leadership and unite the country if elected to succeed Buhari in 2023.

Too much emphasis and blame labeled on governors. Since you have developement-driven agenda for Nigeria and think much is required from state governments, Mr Aspirant why not hustle for governorship ticket instead?

Even the campaign director doesn't understand the seat they're hustling for.

Pls patronise us today for your power steering pump of all car models.

He's right.
Because the governors are the ones in charge of the military and paramilitary. They are also the one debriefed daily by the military intelligence on the affairs of the country.

He should decentralize power if he doesn't want to take blames. Let there be state police and many things handled by individual states.

Forgive me, but Northerners think like cows, beat them and they will respond in a mumu'ish way.
