The national NURTW and the Lagos state chapter formerly led by MC Oluomo are known have engaged in supremacy tussle that has led loss of lives and properties in the recent past. A reasonable thing to do was to put an end to all these by placing a ban on their activities and looking for a better way of revenue collection from motorist on behalf of the state government.

Sanwoolu having banned NURTW in Lagos state stupidly appointed MC Oluomo one of the warring parties as chairman of Parks committee which is just a case of 1 step forward, 20 steps backwards. Instead of quenching the already ignited fire, he's adding more fuel to it.

A more reasonable thing to do would've been the state government looking for a better way of collecting revenue without these touts. An example of such is to make it mandatory for motorists to buy a particular sticker issued by the ministry of transport without which u cannot ply the road as a commercial motorist. Policemen should be empowered to Impound vehicles that fail to comply. That way the goverment will be getting the revenue directly and these touts parading as NURTW will have no place in the society. That is how things should be done in a modern society, not the nonsense MC Oluomo and his murderous goons are doing running after vehicles,beating up motorists, arrogating power to themselves to damage vehicles of motorists that fail to pay them and even killing dissident union members

it's still going to lead to touting ,the policy you're suggesting will still result in people touting the stickers for the transporters to purchase after, because every transporter can't go to Alausa monthly to renew his stickers therefore the touts come in to purchase on their behalf, its a good idea . Policy making isn't as easy as that . I think Lagos state government already knows the solution and have to bring more private investments into it . The BRT scheme is the solution PPP . And it's also easy to get the transporters to key into the scheme and gradually phase out the danfos . The citizens also has to be ready . BRT for now doesn't ply the hitherlands which is another problem. Transportation shouldn't be left in the hands of private owners only . But Lagos state gets a lot of criticism whenever a new policy is been implemented in face-lifting the state so I understand why the BRT is slow . Temporarily the Lagos state park management is a good idea to be honest . It will reduce the everyday touting

well understood but you can't brand oluomo alone as criminal anything abt NURTW usually related with Touts .If oluomo is not there someone else like him or worst will be there .No Any gentle man can manage NURTW in Nigeria. Now Lagos State Government had higacked the union by baning it bcs of the revenue there .Government need the revenue s from the union activities and they need some one who can control the( Touts to say) in the union who must not be a gentle man .No government agent can manage it ( the park) at this stage like poeple among them but when time comes things can change .Oluomo had done nothing more criminal than other NURTW Leaders all of them are same no one leave simple and gentle life .
