A group of Nigerians is organizing an unprecedented rally in London on July 22 to drum up support for the trial of former Delta State Governor, James Ibori. The event will take place at the Southwark Crown Court, the venue of Mr. Ibori’s forthcoming trial on money-laundering charges.
In a statement issued in London, the group criticized the presence in court, at Ibori’s first appearance, of about 50 people who were alleged to have been sponsored by the Delta State Government, which is headed by Ibori’s cousin, Emmanuel Uduaghan.

“If you are offended by any act that promotes or supports corruption, this is your opportunity to show solidarity with the long-suffering Deltans whose future has been mortgaged by the alleged criminal activities of Mr James Ibori and his gang of looters,” the statement said.

Please join us for the justice for Deltans rally scheduled for Friday July 22, 2011 at the premises of the Southwark Crown Court.

We believe it was wrong for 50 people, allegedly sponsored by the delta state government, to have protested James Ibori's trial for money laundering in the uk. We believe that the new Nigeria we are all trying to build does not provide for such pro-corruption activities.




If you are offended by any act that promotes or supports corruption, this is your opportunity to show solidarity with the long-suffering Deltans whose future have been mortgaged by the alleged criminal activities of Mr. James Ibori and his gang of looters.

Let us come out in droves to say, "enough is enough" to those who by their criminal conduct, have destroyed whatever bright future our innocent children might have.

You don't get it, they are not supporting Ibori, they are actually supporting his trial. Their aim is to counter the paid scumbags protesting against the trials

i dont know anything about the case. so i cant say much James Ibori have been claiming victimization by Jonathan government. The only thing I know is that James Ibori ethnic group and Jonathan Goodluck ethnic group have problem in the past. Even they were always fighting.



On if James Ibori was corrupt, I dont know. People say he was.

On if Jonathan Goodluck was upset with James Ibori over not wanting him become president. I dont know.

The Uk police will be in a better position to tell you.



One thing I can tell you is, the Ijaws and Uhrobo dont like each other.

The idea of the niger delta is an ijaw idea. many of the other ethnics group in that area , do not like it. and niger delta is not possible because, you have Igbos in river state, even the governor of Rivers state is Igbo. so how can you force niger delta on igbo people.



But clearly when you look  at the satellite picture, it is hard to separate the ijaws from the igbos now.


while jonathan seen to be in favour of working with the igbos, with a name like azikiwe goodlock.   it is not possible to create a niger delta republic .

while the nigeria supreme court have settle some of this land cases. but some group refuse to accept the case even after 40 years. The court gave Warri to the Itsekiri, and also gave farcados and its coast to the itsekiri people. While Bomadi is clearly Ijaw. the ijaw mostly live below the river.

I wish him 20 years in jail
