Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has said he is determined to facilitate no fewer than 100 roads across the Senatorial district before the end of 2022.

ABN TV reports that this comes as the Senate Chief Whip insists that his target is to leave his people happier than he met them in 2019 as their representative in the Senate, stating that he has so far facilitated 60 rural roads.

He spoke on Sunday in a chat with leaders of Umunneochi local government area of the state who came to pay him a thank you visit at his Igbere home.

He used the opportunity to announce the construction of nine additional rural road projects for Umunneochi council area.

According to the former Abia governor, his desire is to facilitate people-oriented projects to the district in the areas of education, health and other key infrastructural development.

He said, "In 2022, we facilitated the construction of 1km Ogwumabiri road, construction of 1km rural road, Umuaku, construction of 1km rural road, Aroikpa, provision and installation of solar street lights in selected communities in Umunneochi LGA, construction of 1km rural road, Lekwesi, construction of 1km rural road, Ubahu, construction of 1km rural road, Amauba Obulo, construction of 1km rural road, Umueze to Umudim and construction of 1km Obilorji road."

It isn't the job of legislators to fix or construct roads. His jobs is to talk.

This is an extra work and no matter how shady the roads are, he has done his best to make the lives of his people better. You want to criticise? Go to the local, state and federal governments and fight them there not a senator trying to help out.

That is my Senator. When he was the governor of Abia State, he did over 285 roads, though more in the grassroots areas. Kudos Sir.

Mature minds from Abia know and still remember his efforts towards making the state better when he was in power from 1999-2007.
Roads were good, salaries were paid, Sports in the state was booming (u can't even argue that), security of lives & property was great, lots and lots of employment. etc

Unfortunately for Abia, selfish governments succeeded him; and of course every good work requires maintenance, but the succeeding regimes did nothing to maintain those good works.

Even as a senator, constructing and maintaining LOCAL, STATE, EVEN FEDERAL ROADS, that's a plus. It's the job of the government in it's entirety.

He is by far the MOST ELIGIBLE Igbo candidate for the presidency (a true technocrat wey no dey rant).

Don't blame him for the 'animal talk', blame his constituents who don't know their left from right when it comes to holding people in power responsible. This same man had a case with the EFCC on corruption, switched political parties and got his life back to normal and his constituents didn't see anything wrong with that so he should carry go and continue with his brand of leadership which constitutes looting and embezzlement.
