Who will not do it, it is easier to steal money from Nigeria than the whole world himself, not to think of world bank, lol,if she has been stealing $1M from world bank monthly before, it will increase to $5M in Nigeria monthly, Believe me |

I wish her all the best of lucks for the sake of Nigeria and her future. I just hope PDP will let her succeed! I wish to see how she tackles the deep rooted corruption in government cos i doubt there will be any meaningful result without fighting corruption. |

the corruption in Nigeria is so high and it would only take God fearing and dedicated person to exist and make changes in the system. because where even most boss are the head of corruption, how then can anyone easily achieve good result. But i will commend her on the bold step she took. that means she is either really ready to fight for the good of the country or she resigned so she will have ample time to loot. i hope the former is the reason |

Tipical Nigerians, someone resigned her enviable position in the world bank to serve her father land and this is how grateful we are. Some people here dont even have a job, talk more of a 9ce job, thats the reason they dont understand or appreciate the word 'resign'. Kudos Ngozi, we are proud of u |

MeGaStReEt:Well but u will never smell a job in "Microfinance Bank" how much more "World Bank" born2fuck:Not everybody debases themselves to use their career to steal funds like most political office holders in Nigeria today just as not everyone is ill-minded and r.e.t.a.r.d.e.d to have a s.t.u.p.i.d profile name such as yours in forum sites like Nairaland! |

Nigerians and their attitude sef! Someone resigned from the World Bank to serve her country, rather than eulogize with her, we are cynically suggesting that she is going to steal, what a bunch of cynics! Some people are just so cynical that they want to infect everyone with their cynicism, a complete waste of breath and space indeed. |
Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Quits World Bank To Be Finance Minister by Sunofgod(m): 11:14pm On Jul 09, 2011 |
dem_people: On the one hand she talks about resigning from the world bank to serve Nigeria. . . . . And on the other hand there are stories about her salary demands and currency it should be paid in. . . If she really wanted to serve Nigeria whole heartedly, money wouldn't be an issue. She's out for the maximum amount of money and recognition she can get for her talents. |
Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Quits World Bank To Be Finance Minister by dempeople(m): 11:25pm On Jul 09, 2011 |
Sun of god: . . . and would you have done otherwise if you were in her shoes? What about her mortgage, kids' school fees and etc? Should she sacrifice all these for the sake of serving Nigeria? Where would she get the cash to pay for them? We should be glad that someone as outstanding as her, could upon her magnificent career and experience, decide to perpetually demote herself to accepting a cabinet post. She deserves all accolades. |

Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Quits World Bank To Be Finance Minister by londoner: 11:42pm On Jul 09, 2011 |
Sun of god: She backed down on the "jumbo pay" salary demand which, by the way I suspect would have been in the region of what she is being paid by the world bank. Instead she wants a free reign to chose the economic team and a broader role. I honestly think that Nigerians are addicted to criticising. No matter the subject there is always a "glass half empty" attitude. This has to stop. Sorry, but that attitude come across as pessimistic, and quite unrealistic if you ask me. Nigerians need to stop trying to get their pound of flesh. |

Im yet to understand why people love this woman soo much. What difference has her influence or the WB reflection of Nigerias economy, made to each of your lives individually? What new developments have u noticed that can be directly connected to herself or improvement of the nation? Excessive media hype- How much are they going to pay her? How much of Nigeria will Nigerians own after shes done? The country has only just started!! you all have no idea! |
Re: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Quits World Bank To Be Finance Minister by aljharem3: 11:49pm On Jul 09, 2011 |

Hopefully this means she has come to do her best. God help her and our young country. BTW Nigerians have the right to be the biggest cynics in the world. We have suffered enough. |

ebere1712: Nigerians have suffered largely by their own hand. at the very least they have been enablers of their "abusers".Its about time they took their share of that blame and responsibility for their part in the turnaround. |
