[size=15pt]Ex-governor in trouble over Boko-Haram[/size]

As security agencies heighten the manhunt for Boko Haram suspects, security agencies are said to be on the trail of a former governor for interrogation. The ex-governor is however said to have temporarily relocated to China.

Also, security agencies have uncovered shocking discoveries from some suspects which pointed to the fact that the insurgency might be more political than religious.

Investigation by our correspondent showed that security agencies have recorded a major breakthrough in their crackdown on the Boko Haram militia. However, they are said to be waiting to interrogate the former governor.

It was learnt that investigations so far have revealed that the security agencies need to interact with the ex-governor whose testimony may provide “further insight” into the crime.

A top security source, who spoke in confidence, said: “We have reached a convenient point that we need to interact with a former governor. All attempts to speak with the ex-governor have been unsuccessful as we have report that he has relocated to China.

“But whatever it is, we will relate with the ex-governor because his testimony is vital to the final leg of our investigation into the Boko Haram menace. We will soon quiz the ex-chief executive. There are allegations against the extent of involvement of the ex-governor in the emergence of Boko Haram for political motives.”

He added: “Our interaction with some of the suspects has confirmed that they could not read Quran properly, some have smattering knowledge of the Holy Book.

“The pattern of killing so far has confirmed that Boko Haram have been attacking members of the ruling All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the state. We are suspecting rumpus within the political class which is having a spiral effect on the state.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “The security situation in Borno State is compounded by the high presence of Chadian and Nigerien in the state.

“That of Chadians is more worrisome as many of them are rebels from the war-torn country. This is the sketch of the security challenges we are confronting in Borno. That is why we are doing much of intelligence work in the state.”

As at press time, findings have confirmed that the Federal Government has stepped up security patrol at the country’s waterways.

The source said: “Although the security problems are limited to the North, we have tightened situation along our waterways and seaports. We opted for a total security beef up so that we won’t be confronted with a challenge in the South after addressing the insurgency in the North.

It is not Yerima.100% sure it is Ali modu sheriff former governor of borno.He is the main cause of this violence,infact one of his commissioners was a member of boko haram and it is allege sheriff waz the one that asked him to be there so that he would use their number for poltical reasons

I wonder why wud Yerima's name be even mentioned at all.The ex-guvnor is definitely SARS or Sherriff. Zamafara state does not have any issue of Boko Haram and definitely one of the most peaceful state in the North. Forget what you might be hearing in the press. This BH folks according to rumours have been in existence for a long time just like the Nasfat,and other muslim sects. Their violence only started when the were introduced into politics of which they were used and dumped.Even rumours within Maiduguri stated that wen that Yusuf chap was captured and handed over to the police, SARs drove himself to the police station without excorts and was shouting at the chap and abusing him in kanuri, even gave him a slap before the next tin we heard was that he was shot (summarily executed). This monster of BH was created by the politicians and its so unfortunate that innocent lives are always caught in the cross fire. If not for the santity of life, no matter can give life and hence have no right taking life. I would have said it really served the police right because they executed yusuf to cover up something. Nobody shud ask me about source o because all I just said are based on rumours in the town oooooo.

It does not make sense, Yerima is a God-Father in his OWN state and revered why throw all that away and become AN insurgent Do you people even know how many miles it is between Maiduguri and Zamfara, the distance is more than Lagos to Kaduna .

Boko Haram is Borno problem and the Governors and ex Governors of Borno State needs to be giving some serious " water boarding treatment" they are the ones fanning the flame of discontent in that that state. They have created a 'Frankenstein Monster' who has grew a mind of his own.

@seanet the guy's right, yerima is revered in his 5th world state that's why he could kick the previous governor out after one term only.

The fact that paedophile Yarima is an ANPP stalwart like Shariff means there might be a link to him too. You never know with these types of things.
