The Member Representing Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Hon. Barrister Vincent Ekene Ofumelu has been cleared by the Screening Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to contest the forthcoming primaries of the party.

Hon. Vincent Ekene Ofumelu won his election in 2019 on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and has remained a committed member of the PDP family.

The acclaimed sojourn to the APC can be described as mere rumor, perhaps unofficial as he did not for once declare on the floor of the National Assembly about his cross carpeting to another political party as it is required by law and guidelines of the National Assembly for defecting lawmakers to inform the Chambers.

Hon. Barrister Ofumelu has officially declared interest to return to the National Assembly to continue his Representation of the people of Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency on the platform of the PDP and has been certified to participate in the party primaries.
