Since the Cold War, The Russian Army has that show-off habit of bragging that their Tanks are the best in the World. Even Western Armies are worried. When their T-54 and T-55 Medium Tanks appeared the U.S. Army upgraded their M-48A2 Patton Tanks into M-60A1 Main Battle Tanks armed with the British designed L7 105mm gun. even the British Army modernized their Centurion Tanks with the said 105mm guns to defeat Soviet Tanks. Then came the highly touted modern and advanced T-62 Main Battle Tanks armed with the automatic 115 mm High velocity guns. But it was thoroughly defeated by the British Centurion Tanks, and U.S. Army M-60A1 Main Battle Tanks in the service of the Israeli Armored Corps during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Finally, according to the Russians by the 1980's they deployed the best and deadliest MBT in the World. But when Israel attacked Lebanon in 1982, Israeli Army Merkava MBT's, M-60A1's MBT's and Centurion MBT's massacred the "Mighty" Soviet made T-72's. Later on, in the Operation Desert Sabre/Desert Storm came [n 1991. The Soviet designed and top of the line, T-72's in Iraqi Army serviced were badly massacred by U.S. Army M-1A1 Abrams and British Army Challenger 1 Main Battle Tanks. The Soviet T-72 MBT were never able to redeem its honor. The new T-14 Armata and T-90 Main Battle Tanks of the Russian Army will for sure suffer the same fate as their predecessors.

And how do u think a country as big as Russia that u can possibly count how many thanks the have in their arsenal.

@ OP, a number of German made Leopard 2 from the Turkish Army, arguably the best tank in the world, were destroyed I'm Syria.

During the Iraqi insurgency, the US Army lost a number of M1A2 tanks to ragtag Iraqi insurgents.

During the Yemen civil war, the Saudis lost a considerable number of same American made M1A2 MBT

I don't see anyone make much noise about those. The Russians on the other hand lose 1 T90, and it's headline? Abeg grow up.

Y’all need to know that no tank is 100% safe. Infact they are more vulnerable when attacked from the air. Only time it can show it’s defenses is when I’m combat with another tank or with anti tank missiles.
As long as Ukraine have learnt to use the drones to drop bombs on the tanks they are not safe.

Stop making it a big deal like they made useless weapons, every weapon has its weaknesses.

Russia doesn't understand that 21st century warfare is more of defensive than offensive. US and allies spend more on defensive weapons than offensive weapons compared to Russia. Essence of offensive warfare is to occupy and grab lands. This is not era of land grabbing. Ukraine has gotten a lot of defensive weapons that can destroy most Russian offensive weapons..
USA leant bitter lessons in Vietnam and Afghanistan. When people don't want foreign rule and you impose puppet on them, soon or later there would be rebellion. Foreign soldiers can invade and occupy a region but they would find difficult to govern or control. Partisan resistance.
It is only evil enemies that would destroy cities in order to occupy it.
