Why is CBN supposed to be headed by an economist?

It's cause only an economist, a good policy maker that understands the workings of the economy one that truly knows the true meaning of fiscal and monetary policy and can drive them to pilot the affairs of the now not prestigious CBN.....

If any economist had handled that post things would have been better because they and we work according to international best practices.......

Digressing, u remember when good luck Jonathan and sanusi lamido were having disputes over unremitted NNPC funds to the tune of over 40 billion sanusi stood his ground buttressing CBN autonomy and CBN work ethics.......

If she wasn't a seasoned economist she wouldn't have and won't be doing well....

Akinwumi adesina president African development bank group is a development economist and is doing well they have been making huge profits upon profits each year.....

To me akinwumi adesina would be Nigeria's best candidate for president and not all those useless old fart like tinubu, osinbanjo, ameachi, atiku, peter obi, malami Et Al, look at how he transformed Nigeria's agricultural sector under his watch as a minister.......

Nigeria if led by technocrats will go far and not by clueless Buffon's.....

The chief executive of a political body like the CBN does not have to be a technocrat. Such organizations have technocrats but their actions are often political. That is the reality
