President Muhammadu Buhari at the weekend ordered Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, to go back to their respective positions, a presidency source has confirmed.

While Emefiele wanted to run for the office of president, Malami had wanted to succeed Atiku Bagudu as Kebbi State governor. Earlier, there were reports that President Buhari had directed Emefiele to resign on Monday following calls by many groups demanding his resignation.

However, speaking with Daily Independent, a presidency source said President Buhari has asked both Malami and Emefiele to go back to their respective duties.

Also on Sunday, Malami’s media aide, Jubrilu Gwandu, issued a statement, saying while Malami has not resigned as claimed, he has pulled out of the Kebbi governorship race.

“Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has not resigned. He withdrew his ambition to contest for the 2023 Kebbi State gubernatorial elections.

“Malami has the right to choose to voluntarily shelve his gubernatorial ambition. It is a matter of personal conviction and individual right which didn’t violate any law. Right thinking members of the society accord respect to individual’s right to freedom of choice in matters relating to this.

“As individual Nigerian citizens with inalienable fundamental rights, we are not aware of any legally justifiable and reasonable tenable obligations compelling the person of Abubakar Malami, SAN or as an Attorney-General of the Federation to do otherwise. The decision is not only a demonstration of altruism and patriotism, but of contentment, self-control, placidity and decisiveness in problem-solving at a time shrouded with confusing and competing stimulus. It is a commendable posture worthy admiration coming from a paragon of virtue”

Damage control.
They weighed their option and realized they would be nothing without their office.
Buhari that is not even aware of his own household won't bother about those two.

Gen Buhari time in Nigeria politics is over. His descent into nothingness will be Swift and fast,if in doubt, check mannabbq posts, when was the last time they(I believe mannabbq is actually a group of people using that name to post) posted any of the Daddy oyoyo post praising Buhari.
For those who believe badiru, bagudu, buni and malami have any kind of political power they will be shocked like an exposed naked electric cable.
Gen Buhari is the one giving these neophytes any kind of relevance in the polity, now that Gen Buhari is able to fade into nothingness,I expect all the parasitic leeches in Aso rock to follow him into Oblivion.
Politics is a power play,I expect party factions to emerge very soon in kebbi, yobe and Jigawa state.
The old political power war houses will soon resurface and dismantle these new parasitic leeches,as for Malami he's a leech without any political relevance, his descent into nothingness will be the worst of those riding on Gen Buhari name.
Let the power games begin.

I posted this comment on Jan 14 2022 and I had to repost it again.
Malami is a clueless neophyte that can't win a local government election in Kebbi, same for the money drunk Emefiele in the CBN.
I conclude by declaring pastor professor osinbajo will win the presidential ticket for the APC.
God bless you

The best thing Buhari would have done to this country was to have allowed the duo of Malami and Emefiele to resign from their positions.
