The perception that unless illiteracy and poverty is eradicated, crime will continue, might not become reality.
Facts is, some greedy state governors & local govt and community leaders and aspirants have created an ugly
network of youth gangs, cultism, and thuggery within their community to help eliminate political opponents.
Most of these young lads are not illiterates and are not either from poor homes.
For example, the Aba Kidnapping sager, some arrested kidnapers where undergraduate students from not poor parents.
The state governors as well as their political opponents with support from local leaders recruit and sponsor youths as tugs. they arm and fund these tugs when need, and later dump them when they are through with them, no rehabilitation.
These dumped youths without sponsors will later engage in robbery, kidnapping and the worse BOKO HARAM for survival.
