Abia people come and tell us…

Is Chief Emenike better than PDP flagbearer?

Abi na dem dem?

Besides, Uche Ogah has no case. It’s the State Working Committee of the party that determines the mode of primary to be used and not national. National will only approve or otherwise.

At this point in time, all hope is almost lost. The two of them (APC & PDP) are almost unknown. This ones fit no go work.......... Ikpeazu might be better than them sef....... We pray we dont get another replica of the Orji's

Modified: he actually has a Wikipedia page..... I hope and pray he's good though

This man is gradually becoming the jimmy Agbaje of Abia state.

He should go back to his business after buhari leaves office.
But he's a minister

The State Working Committee determines but INEC doesn't take instructions from the SWC but the NWC.

Therefore, while the NWC might concede to the SWC, they can decide otherwise and INEC deals directly with them.

APC will most likely not win, they are too divided.

Emenike controls the State structure even though he got help from his friend, Buni at the time. High Chief and Buni used to be in the ANPP before the APC merger and he has a personal relationship with PMB. His wife has been an Ambassador since 2015 and he is presently Governing Council Chair, UNN.

He has been fighting for this since 2008, he is an old war-horse and a master of parallel Congresses. He has organised such since 2010 till date every election turn.

The aspirants attended Emenike's own and left the venue to organize another one using Direct Primaries. INEC will likely validate Ogah (who is likely to win this one) but since he doesn't have the State Structure behind him winning becomes more difficult because Emenike will tell them to back the PDP Candidate, he does this all the time.

Lol.

Emenike must be some bad ass.

Meanwhile, this Abdullahi letter is grounds for litigation.

Because question has to be asked as to how the APC NWC reached the decision to adopt Direct Primaries for Abia. Did the Abia SWC write them intimating them of their decision to adopt Direct Primaries?

If yes, then Abia SWC erred and Ogah and co might carry the day.

But if no, I do not think that the NWC of APC has the right and powers to arbitrarily impose any mode of primary it so desires on any state without the input of such state. APC would have to justify its decision of imposing Direct Primaries on Abia, Benue and Osun and left other states with different options.

I’m of the thinking that Emenike might carry the day except his suspension case goes against him.

The suspensions holds no water. It will be thrown away by higher Courts.

These are internal affairs of a Party, Court has no jurisdiction. All the candidates said they wanted Direct Primaries excepting Emenike.

Yea.

The same thing I thought. Court has no jurisdiction

But that’s a dangerous law we have there.

It will increase party recklessness… after all, court will deny jurisdiction.

It’s not good

Not just that..... They said he was suspended by the Ward and re-affirmed even by LG/State Committees a day to Ward Congress.

1. Emenike has stated that his Ward Chairman insisted that he wasn't suspended.

2. Whilst the purported Suspension was on, Emenike was appointed APC Secretary of Strategy, Contact & Mobilization for the National Convention. This appointment was by the CECPC (the highest authority asides NEC & National Convention at the time).

3. The purported Suspension was challenged by some members of the Party (Ikechi Emenike, Ejike Olekanma and Ikenna Anyalewechi v APC, Mai Buni (for himself & CECPC) & Or). On November 4, 2021 the High Court of Abia State in Umunneochi ruled that the suspension cannot stand. Neither the CECPC nor the APC appealed.

4. Who determines the membership of a Political Party?
It is the NWC. Emenike was screened and cleared by his Party to contest. The word cleared is not ambiguous.

And this all sums up to one thing…

Ogah is a goner

Or, we will wait for the courts to decide

Ogah's election is likely to be upheld because Primaries is a NWC affair. They also complied with direct Primaries order.

That is to say, PDP has already won. Only Uche Ogah could give PDP a run for their money in Abia State. Forget it.
