Northern PDP Leaders Fail To Reach Agreement On Consensus by BlazinGlory40: 10:49am On May 28, 2022
Northern stalwarts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met on Friday night to pick a consensus candidate ahead of today’s primary election but failed to reach an agreement, TheCable can report.

Sources told TheCable that the meeting which took place in Abuja, was at the instance of Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa who is supporting Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state, for the party’s presidential ticket.

The hopefuls were asked to rally behind one candidate to prevent Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, from clinching the party’s ticket.

Wike is seen as the biggest threat to the north because of his network and war chest.

He is believed to have the highest number of states in his corner.

However, the aspirants, including Atiku Abubakar, Bala Mohammed, Bukola Saraki and Aminu Tambuwal, refused to step down for one candidate except Mohammed Hayatu-Deen who agreed to withdraw from the contest.

Some of those who attended the meeting include Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo, who is Tambuwal’s ally; Aliyu Gusau, former national security adviser; and Ben Obi, Atiku’s associate.

A previous attempt by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) to pick a consensus candidate failed.

NEF recommended Saraki and Mohammed but other hopefuls from the north rejected the outcome.

PDP is not ready to win the presidency. Even if Wike win the ticket he can't win the general election. because so many enemies he's got.

It is going south. Wike precisely, he will battle it out with either Osibanjo or Tinibu of APC in 2023. 2023 is all southern affairs.

The 5% cowards can continue crying and wailing. Their tears is sweet for Nigeria grin grin

Wike is not a bad option just that the north knows what awaits them if Wike clinges that ticket tongue embarassed embarassed

That is y they are running up and down but they will eventually be disgraced.
In equity and fairness, anything that will make power rotate to the south is a welcome development. grin grin grin

Meanwhile, is like Tinubu is gradually realizing how much he just lost under just 2 months grin grin grin.......... perpetual ass licker undecided

A party of looters and criminals that couldn't construct their national headquarters for 16 years want to build a country!
Awon werey 100%.

Perennial losers and thieves.
Party of confusion, looting and corrupt souls in disarray..

Truth is not bitter, just that people are bitter to the truth........

PDP in Nigeria again?!
God forbid bad thing
we rather vote for FRESH Party!!

Awon werey 100%.

Going on memory lane for those that suffer from collective amnesia around, AKA Children of hate, frustrations and perdition..
The 12-storey structure projected to serve as the national secretariat of the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is tottering, being a borrowed vision that was not contemplated by the founding fathers of the party.

After organising fundraising on two occasions and gathering billions of naira, the office could not complete that single project.

As such, five years after work on the site was stopped in 2014, the new helmsmen in PDP are crying for funds to see to the completion of the building. However, the cry for more funds has raised fresh concerns over the status and whereabouts of the N21billion raised during a special fundraising dinner organised by the party on December 2014.

Incumbent PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, recently lamented that there was not enough money to complete the new national secretariat, which cost has was varied upwards from N11.5bilion to N16billion.

The then governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, an architect, was commissioned to put up the project design. And in a bid to get the structure off the drawing board, PDP organised fundraising on November 14, 2008, targeting N10b out of which it raked in N6b. The dinner was chaired by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and the highest donation came from Mr. Femi Otedola, while the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced a donation of N3b worth of cement.

UP TILL NOW, Nothing to show for it.
They even sold the cement Dangote gave them and looted the money!

This dead and looting party doing all they can trying to stay relevant.
Awon werey 100%!!

I never thought Wike can pull this kind of string but since Peter Obi decided to chicken out, the beneficiary is no one but Peter Obi.

Confusion everywhere.
PDP/APC are afraid to hold primary election.
They are all acting drama.

Even if INEC should extend it's deadline for them to conduct primary election and submit the names of candidates, they will still be confused after the period elapse.

PDP has become a den of criminals. Is Politics about cash or who can change Nigeria? Woke has made me dislike PDP with the way he insults people as if they're rags, he's just a governor, nothing more.

My brother, without politics, you can't win elections in Nigeria.
As for Wike, you guys were the ones cheering him on back then. You did not know he will turn back to bite you.
