Mohammed Adoke SAN, Attorney General of the Federation to the rescue, Once again folks are braying for the heads of societies untouchables. For daring to follow/sniff the trails of accusations of the diversion of public funds for electioneering purposes shortly after the the 2011 General Elections, both the ICPC & EFCC were sold dummies and vilified by Mr. Adoke for being incompetent and being only good at being public corruption shamers. Well it was the activities of both institutions with less than 2000 conscientious employees whose unapplauded efforts has led to our nations' loss of its unprestigious rankings in the comity of states as the most corrupt state with the its consequential debt relief package. Lets' watch and see how the GEF and his Attorney-General react. |

is it not a fresh air to have a first lady that falls under the category of criminal women association of nigeria. in this category, you have smart women like mrs. etteh, cecilia ibru, iyabo obasanjo and these are women who believe that what these criminal male politicians can do, women can do it even better. our first lady, you are a quality role model of what a nigerian woman is to be in a free for all stealing jungle like nigeria. fresh air jare. |

Does CAGIL has any proofs? or are they just after shadows. wish them luck in their quest to see that GEJ wife is prosecuted. |
Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by NegroNtns(m): 3:37pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
The best thing to do is deferr on the accusations until Gej finished his term and then open a criminalinvestigation query against the wife. If you do that now you run the risk of sending a First Lady to jail. That's not wise, even though it may be the lawful step to take. Gej himself is likely to be a conspirator and be equally indicted but as a sitting President he has immunity which does not extend to family members. I could be wrong on the specifics of the constitution on that but definitely its unwise to jail a sitting First lady. This is not Phillipines, this is Nigeria. |
Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by pek(m): 4:25pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
Negro_Ntns:so it is not wise? Right? But you agree it is lawful. So it is wise for the law to allow her to go on stealing billions of our money and the government headed by her husband continues to steer the country to her doom. |
Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by NegroNtns(m): 4:43pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
This is a discussion forum. The total approach to the problem is far greater and more realistic to attend to on ground than in a virtual room. She is accused, there are instruments of law enforcement that can immediately be activated to prevent and limit her access and thus curtail any fear that Mrs Jonathan will continue to steal money or fraudulent use of government money. This monitoring does not in any way excuse past behavior or culpability under the law. However, the wisdom I call for will prevent our entire nation from becoming a ridicule and mockery for a new and trendy approach to corruption. American image was severely dented when the sexual affairs of a sitting President, a casual and unobtrusive act for most statesmen, was broadcasted and sold to the world as a monumental sin against the canon of office. We are a laughing stock already, let's not make it worse by putting this woman's issues out there in the media. I'm sure you know they will find other things in her closets that might become more dramatic and sensational than accusation of fraud. Once those discorveries are made you cannot close them back up. |

unfortunately this kind of news would never find its way to our cowardly and corrupt mainstream news media front pages, as they've been bought by our blockhead president during electioneering campaign. Fresh Smelly Farts everywhere!!! |

The topic was about Dame and out of the blues, someone brings Tinubu into it. Sounds like a subtle attempt to justify her actions by bringing an example of another possibly corrupt individual from another region of the country or a rival party. Tribal sentiments, party sentiments, Sentiments, the organ which Corruption thrives in. Corruption, the parasite that eats up our country mortally. |

This is Nigeria as at today who knows what will come up tommorow. We remain loyal to the Country before the seviours comes out. |
Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by reindeer: 5:36pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
shfizle: Thanks, havent you noticed that is how most reetards reason. If you say GEJ stole, they'll tell you to go and arrest Abacha first or even say , how much has he stolen?afterall he is from the Niger delta. It is such reasoning that has held the nation bound and will not allow progress. |
Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by Kobojunkie: 5:50pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
Da Doctor: Quick to Judge what ? Did you bother reading the excerpt? The Group is suing the EFCC for supporting not following the law. Do you know what that means? The woman is not a FEDERAL OFFICIAL -- she is just married to someone who happens to be in office. I don't see what you all are afraid of. If the group is going after the EFCC, we ought all to support this move. If EFCC WAKES UP as a result of this and then goes after her for any crimes committed, this will be in our good. For pete's sake this all took place before she became your first lady. |

Re: CAGIL Sues EFCC For Not Prosecuting The First Lady by violent(m): 7:28pm On Jul 19, 2011 |
Although this sounds like a good idea, it wouldn't yield much fruit, as EFCC can only prosecute a case based on sufficient credible evidence it has. If it claims that the evidence at its disposal is not credible or sufficient enough to prosecute an individual or an entity, the court cannot compel it to do so! Besides the publicity and the obvious fact that this was meant to embarrass the Jonathan's administration, even the claimants know they wouldn't get much from this case! Only the government can prosecute a case when a federal law has been broken, and even if it's obvious that the evidence on ground is substantiative enough, if the government claims it doesn't have sufficient evidence to go ahead with the case, the court will have no other choice but to bin the case. |

Someone said Nigeria is not Phillipine. So, an incumbent president's wife shouldn't be prosecuted just because this is Nigeria. Are we better, more developed, more educated, more patriotic than Phillipine? Or is it because of our better image to the outside world compared to that of Phillipine? These underage nairalanders will never stop amusing with their reasoning ability. |
