While buhari was in Portugal, I was telling someone that a lot of conferences have been scheduled for buhari to attend by his aides. 9 out of 10 times, buhari has no idea the essence of those conferences. Sincerely, a president that is always seen everywhere and always available for every meeting that anyone calls for, will eventually not be taken too serious anymore because he's just like that friend or neighbor that is always available all the time for all the gists and outings: people assume he's lazy and doesn't have work.
A self respecting President does not leave his country at every slight invitation. Usually he'll send the secretary of state or vice to attend some meetings with other heads of state on his behalf. That way, whenever the president himself finally decides to show up at a place, his presence carries weight because he's rarely seen at such meetings. This is a simple etiquette of self worth. Our own president that has been globetrotting at the beck and call of other presidents, how many times has he also invited other presidents to come see him in his own country?
