The 5 Northern governors supported Tinubu at the primaries with the hope of picking VP ticket. Infact it was rumoured that he promised each of them the vp ticket individually. Tinubu's dilemma has been who to choose without offending the rest 4. Zulum has opted out to focus on his second term ticket. Gandulje and Elrufai are still waiting to hear from Tunubu same as Abubakar Badaru and Abubakar Sani Bello. As it stands now, it appears the 4 governors would be thrown under the bus as they forgo senatorial seats on the alter of Tinubu's fake promises.
With the VP ticket tilting towards the Islamic Boko Haram sponsor, Kashim Shettima, all 4 governors are likely to take a 'sidon-look' stance come 2023. It will be disastrous mostly for Elrufai, who in an attempt to impress Tinubu regurgitated his bigoted and failing muslim-muslim ticket in Kaduna. Worst still for Gandulje who became Tinubu's errand boy to convince him of his 'loyalty'. While Elrufai will lose Kaduna to LP because of Yusuf Datti and Family's influence, Gandulje has already lost Kano to NNPP.
Unfortunately fir these governors that ride to power on Buhari's influence, towards 2023, Buhari has not been enthusaistic of the APC candidate, inspite of the fact that Tinubu has been chasing him up and down to show respect. The Buhari we all know would rather handover to Atiku than Tinubu. Buhari had also cautioned APC on the fantasy muslim-muslim agenda. Unfortunately, Tinubu chose not to listen. Moreso, these governors arm-twisted Buhari, who begged them to allow him chose his successor.
